When I was a young teen, I read a sobering statement – that most Americans would starve to death standing next to a cow in a field of ripe wheat. In other words, most people don't have the faintest idea how to obtain food from elemental sources. In the age of coronavirus, this statement is coming back to haunt me. The pandemic has caused an interruption in supply lines, and for the first time in decades, Americans may face shortages. We're not used to seeing empty shelves at the supermarket. How secure is our food supply? For 5,000-plus years of...

California backtracks on plastic bag ban; Gov. Gavin Newsom suspends 10-cent charge And isn't it ironic, don't you think?Progressive California has warned about the dangers of single-use plastic bags for years and lectured on how everyone needs to use reusable bags. In an ironic twist, the government of California is now warning about the dangers of reusable bags and encouraging everyone in the state to use plastic bags. In 2007, San Francisco became the first large city in the U.S. to ban single-use plastic bags. On March 31, San Francisco reversed its plastic bag ban because of the COVID-19 outbreak....

Harvard stirred controversy earlier this month when they announced a June invitation-only summit to discuss increased regulations and a presumptive ban on homeschooling. The event, dubbed, "Homeschooling Summit: Problems, Politics, and Prospects for Reform," is set to feature a who's-who of academics, lawyers, and activists who have been outspoken in their belief that parents should not legally be allowed to educate their children at home. Harvard Law School is officially hosting an event against homeschooling in June. "The focus will be on problems of educational deprivation and child maltreatment that too often occur under the guise of homeschooling." pic.twitter.com/JF0kgEEIYp— Corey...

(Candidate Donald Trump, receiving endorsement of Bay of Pigs veterans at the Bay of Pigs Museum in Miami, Florida, Oct. 25, 2016.) 'Shameless ELECTION YEAR PANDERING!' snort liberals. Well: “I really admire toughness and courage, and I will tell you that the people of this brigade [Brigada 2506] really have that…you were let down by our country.” (Donald Trump, addressing Bay of Pigs Veterans at the Bay of...

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s whereabouts are still unknown, even as the country’s state-run media celebrates the 88th anniversary of the country’s armed forces. Television coverage in North Korea on Saturday focused on celebrating April 25, the date that the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was formed, according to Newsweek. Kim’s conspicuous absence has further raised questions about his condition. It was reported Friday that a delegation, which was led by a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party’s International Liaison Department and included several doctors, left for North Korea on Thursday. It remains unclear, however, what the report means...

As part of an ongoing release of research about the worldviews of Americans, new data show that just over half hold a biblically-informed view of God, a 22% drop from 30 years ago.Longtime researcher George Barna, whose work is now based at the recently-founded Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, released another installment in his findings that reveal the erosion of the Judeo-Christian worldview in the United States. The new report shows that only 51% of Americans consider God to be "all-powerful, all-knowing, perfect and just creator of the universe who still rules the world today.” In 1991, 73%...

Despite repeated denials from the government and state-run media about the status of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un’s health, the fact remains that nobody has seen him in public in weeks. The various claims and rumors making the rounds range from Kim being in recovery from surgery at a private residence to assertions that he’s brain dead or even deceased. The hermit kingdom isn’t really big on sharing news, particularly if it’s of the bad variety, so we won’t know anything until they’re ready to either produce him or offer some other sort of proof. But given the dodgy nature...

While the mainstream media has mostly kept a lid on this story, the sexual assault allegations by Tara Reade against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden aren't going away soon. As PJM's Rick Moran reported earlier this week, the D.C. police are treating the allegations as an "active and ongoing" investigation. Many liberals are turning a blind eye to the story, but there are some who have a vested interest in keeping this story alive and front and center: Bernie Bros. In fact, Briahna Joy Gray, Bernie Sanders' former campaign press secretary, who has been a vocal critic of Biden,...

WASHINGTON — In early March, Joe Biden’s presidential campaign unfurled a public health advisory committee composed of half a dozen heavyweight experts to advise on how best to operate a campaign on a trail that was becoming increasingly dangerous as coronavirus infections spread across the country. The announcement was seemingly designed to, as the New York Times characterized it, “project calm and competence” less than a week after the Trump White House began its chaotic and often antagonistic daily briefings. There was a perception that Biden, in contrast, would have a foil group - a former surgeon general for every...

At his press conference last night, President Trump told everyone to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. "Water's tremendous, very powerful stuff," he said. "You won't believe the things they can do with water. Water balloons. Water slides. Water beds. It's amazing. You can freeze it and make ice, I'm told. Ice is great for lots of things. Ice cream. Ice cubes. Igloos." "Anyway, drink water." Horrified journalists scrambled to warn Americans not to drown themselves in their pools and bathtubs. "Trump says water is good -- but this is very misleading," said Rachel Maddow. "Did you know that...

As we reported earlier this month only nine states in America that are not under stay-at-home orders by their governors. Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas,, and South Carolina are now the only states where residents are not under orders to only leave their homes for “essential” purposes. “The contrast is the starkest in five states — Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota,, and South Dakota — where there are no such orders in place, either in major cities or statewide. Another four had partial restrictions issued locally in certain cities or counties,” the New York Times...

Talk about dimwit. At a time when millions of Americans are demanding to be allowed to return to work, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling for a "work strike." According to PJMedia's Tyler O'Neill: "When we talk about this idea of reopening society you know, only in America does the president — when the president tweets about liberation — does he mean 'go back to work.' When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot of people should just say no — we’re not going back to that," AOC told Anand Giridharadas in the first...

If you spent any time on the internet on Thursday and Friday, or read a hard copy of a newspaper, you would undoubtedly have read stories or social media posts saying that President Trump told Americans to inject themselves with bleach or Lysol to cure coronavirus. Of course, that's not true. The media were either stupid or malicious when they misreported Trump's words. What Trump said was straightforward and thoughtful: “And then I saw the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute, and is there a way we could do something like that by injection inside or almost...

According to CNN, we are "jerks." In some states, we may be criminals. Our infraction? We are doctors who have prescribed hydroxychloroquine, a generic autoimmune medication, to ourselves and our patients in an attempt to prevent or treat COVID-19. Each of us had a child diagnosed with the disease. Neither of us contracted it ourselves, despite close contact. Whether HCQ is effective at preventing and treating COVID-19 is beside the point. Some studies suggest that it helps. Others indicate that it does not. Although its effectiveness can be debated, physicians' right to prescribe it, or any other medication they see...
