If Bloomberg has any chance of winning the nomination, he has to redirect his resources during the primary and run ads against Sanders -- not Trump. Bloomberg needs to use the next $400 million in ad spending to attack Sanders on his potential weaknesses in a general election and highlight how far left his campaign is.

During a private meeting with bishops from the southwestern United States, Pope Francis talked about his 2019 meeting with Fr. James Martin, SJ, and about pastoral care and assisted suicide. The pope met Feb. 10 for more than two hours with bishops from New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. Several bishops present at the meeting told CNA that in addition to discussions about his then-pending exhortation on the Amazon region, and on the challenges of transgenderism and gender ideology, Pope Francis discussed his Sept. 30 meeting with Martin, an American Jesuit who is well-known for speaking and writing about the Church’s ministry to people who identify themselves as LGBT. “The Holy Father’s disposition was very clear, he was most displeased about the whole subject of Fr. Martin and how their encounter had been used. He was very expressive, both his words and his face — his anger was very clear, he felt he’d been used,” one bishop told CNA.

Here's hoping 2020 is the best year yet!! Now that he has been forever acquitted, President Trump should put the failed partisan impeachment attempt behind him, then concentrate on winning the 2020 election with wide coattails. Then bide his time as the cases against the various coup plotters wind their way through the justice system. Highest priority political items: Win the election, hold the senate, take back the house!! And then continue the work of making America great again: Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!! End DACA!! End sanctuary cities!! End anchor babies!! Continue cutting regulations, cutting...

The world is fast approaching a “tipping point” in the spread of the coronavirus, according to experts, who warn that the disease is outpacing efforts to contain it, after major outbreaks forced Italy and Iran to introduce stringent internal travel restrictions and South Korea’s president placed the country on red alert. Some of the countries most affected by the virus are scrambling to halt its progress two days after Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), said the international community needed to act quickly before the narrowing “window of opportunity” closed completely. With almost 78,000 cases...

Daredevil and Flat Earth theorist Michael "Mad Mike" Hughes died Saturday in a rocket crash. Hughes, 64, wanted to prove the Flat Earth theory by taking photographs of the Earth from a homemade rocket. Saturday's rocket launch was to be featured on the Science Channel, which was chronicling Hughes' attempts to launch himself high enough in a homemade rocket to take pictures of the curvature — or lack thereof as far as Hughes was concerned — of the Earth. This particular launch was only supposed to take Hughes 5,000 feet in the air, according to Discovery. "Our thoughts and prayers go...

Before heading out, he posted a tweet in which he praised his “great friends in INDIA.” Included in the tweet was a video based upon Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, an Indian picture that tells the story of a daring man in ancient India who becomes involved in an old feud between two warring groups of people. In this version of the video, however, Baahubali’s head is replaced by Trump’s head. In addition, there are cameos of Melania Trump, the Trump kids, and Prime Minister Modi and his...

Politicians love infrastructure, but many local government projects seem awfully wasteful. WeÂ’ve all seen the questionable spending—the half dozen union guys standing around while one digs, the needless reconstruction of sidewalks, the dangerous bikeâ€â€‹lane schemes on city streets, the empty city buses clogging traffic, and those digital announcement signs on highways with no useful information. Local governments are flush with cash, and they waste it. Where I live in Virginia, a local government spent $1 million on one bus stop that should have cost $20,000.

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA — The unidentified shooter was out enjoying dinner with his family. As they exited the restaurant a man confronted the family and became aggressive with them. After asking the man to leave them alone numerous times with no result, dad finally took action. A Chesapeake man was shot and killed by a member of a family he approached “aggressively” outside a Mexican restaurant in Virginia Beach Friday night, police said. The family had told the man to leave them alone, said police spokeswoman Tonya Pierce. Brian Orlando Hicks, 37, died on scene at the parking lot outside...

Former Acting DNI Joseph Maguire did not brief the white house prior to taking Shelby Pierson, the person in charge of evaluating intelligence regarding election security, to lead the presentation to the house intel committee (HPSCI). That’s the key takeaway from a taped preview of National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien on Face The Nation. With NSA O’Brien confirming what many suspected it begs the question why would Shelby Pierson and Joseph Maguire intentionally blindside the White House? The briefing was obviously spun by HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff and democrats on the committee; and there was no intelligence presented to support...

It's a sign of the Democrats' disarray. Poor Joy Reid has been reduced to begging the Bernie Bros not to attack one of her guests for the sin of pointing out that Sanders is a socialist!Earlier in her MSNBC show today, Reid said that Dems haven't hit Sanders with oppo research "because there's a blowback if you even say his name" in other than a positive way. Reid fretted that she would be getting "ethered" on twitter for mentioning Sanders. Reid also mentioned that she has blocked some of Bernie's senior team members because "I can't take it." [snip] Reid...

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif) is proposing to solve the homeless problem in his state by authorizing doctors to prescribe housing. "Having a comfortable and safe place to live is just as important to a person's health as insulin or antibiotics," he asserted. "Armed with a prescription from a doctor, a homeless person could then draw upon Medicaid resources to either buy a home or pay rent." Newsom called his idea "pure genius. Right now, there is no legal mandate for guaranteeing housing for the homeless. Ten million Californians, one in four, suffer from some type of behavioral health condition. This...
