The DHS is releasing the migrants on the fast-track process “because they do not have the space” to detain migrants long enough to start the deportation process, said Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge who works at the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington, DC-based research. Congress will not fund shelters to hold more than 2,500 migrants with children, so it is allowing the border agencies to be overwhelmed by the rush of migrants.

Last week, when we discussed a meeting Speaker Pelosi called on the subject of impeachment, I had been coming around to the idea that she was going to cave to pressure from the rest of her caucus and open up impeachment hearings. The Speaker managed to surprise me yet again when she held firm and resisted the calls from House Democrats and 2020 candidates to get moving on an effort to “dump Trump.†Pelosi is doggedly sticking to a plan to have her party campaign on issues and not just opposition to the President. The WaPo had a good story...

The Trump administration is stepping up its war against measures to address climate change, according to The New York Times. The administration reportedly plans to prevent the National Climate Assessment, a report funded by the federal government, from assessing worst-case scenarios in its four-year reports. The US Geological Survey will also be made to change its modeling to project only until 2040, not a century ahead, as in previous assessments, The Times said. "What we have here is a pretty blatant attempt to politicize the science — to push the science in a direction that's consistent with their politics," Philip...

Note: The following contains candid discussion of male homosexual behavior. The dreaded moment is upon us. The Equality Act has passed out of committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. It will pass the House and move to the Senate. The White House (a house divided) has criticized the bill, but has not threatened to veto it. Christians who backed this president must contact him and demand that. Call your congressmen and your senators. If we stay silent, this may become law. And that would be the end of freedom for Christians in America. Read the bill for yourself here....

Donald Trump is absolutely convinced that he will win his re-election bid next year. The New York Times opinion section seems increasingly convinced he’s right. In the last three days, Gray Lady readers have gotten dire warnings that, even as unpopular as Trump seems to be, defeating him might be well-nigh impossible — at least for this current crop of Democrats.Steve Rattner, a former Treasury Secretary in the Barack Obama administration, writes today that it’s still the economy, stupid. The current boom times give Trump a formidable tailwind, Rattner warns, but not an insurmountable one: The economy invariably ranks...

When we were discussing this a couple of weeks ago, I’ll confess that I was still remaining at least somewhat skeptical (hey… I’m a cynic at heart) while hoping for the best. The “We Build the Wall†GoFundMe project has been running a bit behind their projected schedule to begin construction, leading some to wonder where all the money they raised has been going and if the project would ever get off the ground. Well, allow me to offer my apologies for any doubts I may have harbored. The group recently announced the completion of their first border wall...

Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Allen West (Screenshot) It is the day after Memorial Day and pools are open, sales are over, and those hot dogs at the baseball parks are still awfully expensive. And yes, those who we honored yesterday still lie in their final duty stations. But the question is, what shall we do for the next 364 days until the next Memorial Day? I have shared a simple theme over the past week where I have spoken. These two words come to us from a memorable film depicting the utter heroism and courage...

Newly Published McCarrick Letters Vindicate Viganò VATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - Newly released letters vindicate Abp. Carlo Maria Viganò, proving that Pope Benedict imposed restrictions on Theodore McCarrick and that Cdl. Donald Wuerl knew of these restrictions, in spite of his claims to the contrary. They also prove that McCarrick ignored those restrictions. Correspondence published Tuesday by Msgr. Anthony J. Figueiredo, former personal secretary to McCarrick when he served as head of the archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey. My decision follows attempts since September 2018 to share and discuss these with the Holy See and other Church leaders.Tweet "After long consideration,...

No matter where you lived in America on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, the story often begins with a sapphire sky filled with airy, white clouds that perfectly contrasted against the expansive blue, a picture-perfect backdrop shattered by the deadliest attack on American soil in the country's history. Nineteen men trained by al Qaida boarded four passenger aircrafts that morning, seeking to carry out a devastating coordinated attack aimed at symbols of American freedom: the World Trade Center, the Capitol and the Pentagon. Three hit their target. Flight 93, the plane targeting the Capitol, crashed in an isolated field...

VIDEO We need to have a discussion about whether the world owes PewDiePie reparations due to the obvious damage done to his personality in his early days on YouTube when his initial low subscriber count resulted in his low self-esteem. This is an injustice which must be addressed because we are all collectively at fault for not instantly recognizing his talent hidden beneath his early nerdiness.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is disturbingly dumb, and the likes of Schumer, Schiff, and Sanders are mean-spirited. Indeed, Dems led by the progressive instigators are devoid of American consciousness, making them the dumbest and meanest interlopers in the public square. They are dumb because, in the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald, they are unable to "hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time while retaining the ability to function." To wit: They cannot consolidate the notions that President Trump, despite his occasional abruptness and forthright demeanor, may still promote policies that make America great. It may be emotionally comforting, but...

In 1860, with the election of Abraham Lincoln as U.S. president, the newly-formed Republican Party controlled the U.S. House, Senate, and presidency. As was the case with most every state in what would become the Confederacy, my home state of Georgia cited slavery, Tepublicans, and the election of Lincoln as its reasons for seceding: A brief history of the rise, progress, and policy of anti-slavery and the political organization into whose hands the administration of the federal government has been committed [the Republicans] will fully justify the pronounced verdict of the people of Georgia [who voted to secede]. The party...

Idlib province, the Syrian opposition’s last stronghold, is a major source of dispute between seemingly staunch allies within the conflict, Turkey and Russia.Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 15 that by conducting air strikes and ground operations in Idlib, Syrian President Bashar Assad “sought to sabotage Turkish-Russian cooperation” and violate the ceasefire agreement. Not being able to blame Russian President Vladimir Putin directly, Erdoğan instead chose to criticise Assad. But it seems that Putin got the message and responded to Erdoğan with another wave of air strikes on Idlib on May 17 that was followed by a unilateral...

If you were a person of some authority and murdered someone, and prosecutors set out to investigate, and if you spoke publicly against the investigation, proclaiming your innocence and calling the probe a “witch hunt,” and if you worked behind the scenes to use your influence to fire the lead investigator on the murder case — that would seem to be a pretty clear case of obstruction of justice. You, as a guilty man, would be trying to stop authorities from finding out the truth. Those who think Trump is unfit for office, or who otherwise oppose him, might carry...

WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court sidestepped major abortion cases Tuesday, letting stand a lower-court ruling that Indiana cannot ban abortions for the purpose of sex, race or disability selection but allowing the state to regulate the disposal of fetal remains. The court’s unsigned opinion appeared the product of a delicate compromise, and it stressed the justices weren’t ready—for now—to consider whether either law violates the Constitution. Instead, the three-page opinion offered procedural reasons for the different, if perhaps temporary, outcomes in both cases. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, in Chicago, had found both Indiana provisions violate Supreme Court...

While I was visiting Germany over the long weekend, this stomach-turning story broke and made a bit of a splash, and understandably so. Â The German government's top official on combating anti-semitism has recommended that Jews take steps to hide their religious and ethnic heritage while in public, in order to prevent hate crimes and incidents against them. Â This would be a stunning admonition coming from any senior figure in Berlin, but it's particularly galling and alarming coming from the man explicitly charged with fighting anti-Jewish bigotry in a nation with an exceptionally dark history on the subject. Â Against this grisly...

Nancy Pelosi: you made my day. First, it was Candidate Obama, who told San Francisco Democrats what they wanted to hear, when he told a fundraiser in 2008 about “bitter clingers†and their guns and God. How we have loved to laugh at the snobbery of Obamians ever since. Then it was Secretary Clinton in 2016 writing off half the Trump vote as “deplorables.†Immediately meme-makers were reworking Les Misérables posters into “Les Déplorables.†Now Speaker Pelosi has placed her bet for immortality by saying that President Trump is “villainous†for daring the Dems to impeach him. Yes, Nancy, I...
