Channel 2's Aaron Diamant received the three-count indictment where it showed Sutton was charged with bribery and two counts of extortion. The charges stem from her involvement in a $10 million contract the DeKalb Board of Commissioners awarded to Tetra Tech in 2013 to manage the expansion of the Snapfinger Water Treatment Plant. Prosecutors say Sutton solicited a series of bribes, as high as a $1,000 a month from a subcontractor on that project.

Most of the recent discussions about teaching the Bible in school miss the key points. First, teaching the Bible in public schools is important for students because, without knowledge of the Bible, students can’t fully understand the English language, English literature, history, art, music or culture. For example, there are over 1,200 documented references to the Bible in Shakespeare’s 36 plays. If you don’t know the Bible, you really can’t understand Shakespeare. You can’t get past the first sentence...

by Sheri Urban One of the most senior House Democrats, who has hurled unfounded accusations of illegal actions and even treason against President Trump and his advisers finds himself accused of major wrongdoing. A charity run by Maya Rockeymoore, the wife of Rep. Elijah Cummings, received millions from special interest groups and corporations that had business before her husband’s committee. Cummings has absurdly demanded everything from Trump’s personal tax returns and the returns of his companies and foundation, but also records from Trump’s accountants — all pertaining to irrelevant business dealings before Mr. Trump became president. Now it looks...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is amplifying her calls for the House begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez @AOC It is just as politicized a maneuver to not impeach in the face of overwhelming evidence as it is to impeach w/o cause. Congress swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. That includes impeachment. We have a duty to preserve our institutions + uphold the rule of law.

Former Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli is expected to take a top job at the Department of Homeland Security to help steer the administration's immigration policies, a senior administration official said. Cuccinelli is not expected to take on the role of "immigration czar," a position President Donald Trump had considered establishing to improve coordination between the agencies involved in handling the steep uptick in migrants crossing the US's southern border in recent months. But Trump and White House officials hope Cuccinelli, a politically savvy immigration hardliner, will ensure the White House's immigration priorities are being carried out at the Department...

Boulder, CO – Late yesterday, Operation Rescue obtained 911 records that revealed shocking details of a medical emergency that took place on April 2, 2019, at Warren Hern’s notorious Boulder Abortion Clinic. Professional pollsters say the old way of conducting surveys is fading fast, but new methods might not be trusted and ready for next year. TORONTO — When veteran pollster Scott Keeter appeared at a recent gathering of industry professionals, he began his presentation with a somber caveat about the methods at the center of his life’s work. Pregnancy is a life-threatening condition. Women die from being pregnant. We have known that for thousands of years. They die from hemorrhage, infection, pre-eclampsia (which can lead to fatal seizures), obstructed labor, amniotic fluid embolism, thromboembolism, a ruptured uterus, retained placenta, hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma and many other causes that fill the obstetrics textbooks. Modern medicine can prevent and treat many, but not all, of these conditions. Some potentially fatal problems cannot be foreseen or prevented. Pregnancy always comes with some irreducible risk of death. There are factors that put some women at higher-than-average risk of death from pregnancy: age (to...

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., has defended women having the right to choose and attacked government officials trying to force decisions on women, detailing her own experience with having an abortion in the process. Speier's appearance came after she tweeted about her own abortion on Thursday. "It was the best choice for my health & my family. While it was an immensely hard decision, I don't regret it," she...
