AUSTIN — A federal judge on Monday blocked a controversial state law that requires miscarried or aborted fetuses to be cremated or buried. U.S. District Court Judge David Ezra of San Antonio issued a preliminary injunction that bars Texas officials from carrying out the law, which would have taken effect Thursday. The case grew out of an earlier lawsuit, brought by the Center for Reproductive Rights on behalf of Whole Woman's Health and other abortion providers, to challenge a regulation from the Department of State Health Services that said fetal remains must be buried.

Last week the Trump administration announced tariffs of 30 per cent on imported washing machines and solar panels. It was widely, and no doubt correctly, seen as the start of new trade offensive against China. … [Trump's Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer]: "On a purely intellectual level, how does allowing China to constantly rig trade in its favour advance the core conservative goal of making markets more efficient? Markets do not run better when manufacturing shifts to China largely because of the actions of its government. Nor do they become more efficient when Chinese companies are given special privileges in global...

RUSH: Well, this is interesting. This happened right before we went to break and I didn’t get a chance to catch it ’til we went to the break. The deputy FBI director, Andrew McCabe, has announced that he’s resigning. Now, this is interesting timing. We can only speculate as to why, and the only thing I would speculate is that we are perhaps going to see this four-page memo that Devin Nunes has prepared that every member of Congress has seen. The House committee that Nunes chairs is voting today on whether to release the memo and make it public....
  • If Your Cat Swats with Its Left Paw, It's Probably Male

When your cat knocks your favorite coffee mug off the counter, does it use its left paw or its right? There's no need to sacrifice any drink-ware for the answer; your cat's gender should tell you enough. According to a small feline-behavior study published in the journal Animal Behaviour, female cats are significantly more likely to be right-paw-dominant, while male cats typically favor their left paws. And while this bit of purr-snickety trivia might seem insignificant, your cat's dominant paw may be an indicator of the animal's well-being, said study author Deborah Wells, a reader at Queen's University Belfast's School of...

"[God] seated [Christ] at His right hand in the heavenly places" (Eph.1:20). Christ occupies the highest place of power, prominence, authority, and honor. To exalt someone is to elevate that person in status, dignity, power, and honor. As God, Jesus possesses all power and authority and is deserving of all honor and glory. But when He was on earth, most people refused to give Him the glory He deserved. Instead they mocked and eventually murdered Him. Just prior to His death, Jesus prayed to the Father, "Glorify Thou Me together with Thyself, Father, with the glory which I ever had...

“One Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5). All Christians have a common Lord, common beliefs, and a common public testimony. Yesterday we looked at what Christians have in common through the Spirit. Today’s verse teaches us what we share through Christ. Christians have only “one Lord,” the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 says, “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.” Paul says in Romans 10:12, “There is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord...

For those of us who are not admirers of President Trump, it’s even more painful to see the Democratic opposition descend into the stupendous dishonesty of the Russian Collusion story. When the intelligentsia of the nation looses its ability to think — when it becomes a dis-intelligentsia — then there are no stewards of reality left. Trump is crazy enough, but the “resistance” is dragging the country into dangerous madness. It’s hard not to be impressed by the evidence in the public record that the FBI misbehaved pretty badly around the various election year events of 2016. And who, besides...

In Addis Ababa, ministers and heads of states meet twice a year to discuss major continental issues. While strict security measures give the impression that that building is closely monitored and secured, an unseen security threat was present from 2012 until 2017. The threat was from none other than those who built the headquarters: the Chinese. An investigation conducted by “Le Monde Afrique” exposed Chinese espionage efforts. According to the report, for five years, between midnight and 2 a.m., computer servers were reaching a peak in data transfer activity. A computer scientist noticed the oddity of the situation. The organization’s...

President Trump reportedly told then-acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe that he should ask his wife, who had lost a bid for political office in Virginia, how it felt to be a loser, NBC News reported Monday. Trump made the remarks in a phone call to McCabe the day he fired FBI Director James Comey that was placed to demand why Comey was allowed to fly on a FBI plane from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., after being fired. McCabe told Trump that he hadn’t been asked about the flight but that he would have authorized it if he had. Trump...

The House Intelligence Committee on Monday evening voted to make public a GOP-crafted memo alleging what some Republicans say are “shocking” surveillance abuses at the Department of Justice (DOJ). The move ends weeks of speculation over whether the memo, which was drafted by staff for chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), would be made public.

In a conveniently-timed leak and narrative-shifting moment, NBC news reports ‘sources’ have confirmed that President Trump, referring to his wife’s Clinton-sponsored failure to win state office, asked former FBI acting director McCabe: “ask your wife how it feels to be a loser.” As a reminder, in 2015 McCabe’s wife had run for state office in Virginia. She accepted nearly $500,000 in donations to her campaign from the super PAC of Clinton ally and former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe. She lost her race by just over 2,000 votes. In the past, Trump had also reportedly asked McCabe how he voted in...

FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has “stepped down effective today,” reports NBC News.FOX News correspondent Catherine Herridge reported on Monday that FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed the explosive FISA memo this weekend. It appears McCabe is the first victim of the FISA MEMO.The swamp immediately struck back. The new Acting Deputy Director of the FBI replacing Andrew McCabe, David Bowdich worked under Comey. In fact, he may be a witness in the ‘Trump-Russia’ investigation because Comey had a conversation with him about Trump asking the former FBI Director to supposedly ‘back off its probe into General Flynn’.Even worse, Bowdich was involved...
  • FBI Texts Discuss “Destroying Evidence”, Scramble To Find Hard Drives: Report

During a Sunday exchange between House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo over recently released FBI text messages, Bartiromo asked if there were any unreleased texts between two anti-Trump FBI agents referring to destruction of evidence. Goodlatte gave a guarded response to Bartiromo’s question, however he did mention an “earlier investigation led by former director Comey” in which evidence was destroyed – including by people working for former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton: Bartiromo: After the election, they talked about this “secret society,” did they also talk about destroying evidence? I’m told there are some texts that...

Nine years ago today, then-President Barack Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law, restoring working women’s right to sue over pay discrimination. It was the first piece of legislation enacted during his presidency, and he noted the significance of the moment: "It is fitting that with the very first bill I sign...we are upholding one of this nation’s first principles: that we are all created equal and each deserve a chance to pursue our own version of happiness." Lilly Ledbetter, the law’s namesake, had blazed a trail forward in the spirit of that fundamental idea. After two...
