Vice President Biden unfurled his genius during a Google+ “fireside” hangout last month stating that having “armed guards in schools would be a terrible mistake.” Really, José? Why don’t you rock up to Price Middle School in Atlanta on Monday morning and bray that insanity to the teachers and students who were spared an early grave because an armed guard took out the latest Lanza wannabe before he could waylay his peers? Oh, I’m sorry. Y’all haven’t heard about the armed guard taking down a shooter who passed his gun through the metal detectors at an Atlanta middle school? My...

Or “How I Learned to Stop Thinking for Myself and Just Trust Republican Jesus.” When I was a kid, I was taught that the Pilgrims fled to the New World to escape religious persecution. Somewhere in there, I learned that we don’t have a national religion and people were free to practice whatever religion they wanted. That was kind of it as far as religion went in my history classes and overall education. Sure, Jews were mentioned in the context of the Holocaust but more as a race than a religion. I did, however, attend Synagogue for a few years...

First they came for the Cakemakers. Over in Oregon, two lesbians came to Sweet Cakes and demanded a wedding cake. The owner let them know that he only does cakes for men and women looking to get married. No sooner did the door close than the Oregon Department of Justice, which had already solved all the other crimes in the state, began an investigation. Aaron and Melissa Klein, their 3 kids and their little cake shop (caramel pecan cheesecake available) had run afoul of the political establishment. "I'd rather have my kids see their dad stand up for what he...

By DEAN SCHABNER Feb. 3, 2013 A man is under arrest in connection with the killing of two men at an Erath County, Texas, gun range, police said. One of the victims is former Navy SEAL and "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle. "We have lost more than we can replace. Chris was a patriot, a great father, and a true supporter of this country and its ideals. This is a tragedy for all of us. I send my deepest prayers and thoughts to his wife and two children," "American Sniper" co-author Scott McEwen said in a statement to ABC News....

Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL who was the U.S. military’s deadliest sharpshooter and wrote the best-selling book American Sniper, was fatally shot Saturday in a double slaying at an Erath County gun range, the U.S. Marshals Service said. Late Saturday, Lancaster police said they had arrested a man they say matched the description of a gunman wanted in the slayings. After a brief chase, officers arrested 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, said Lt. Kelly Hooten, a department spokesman. Kyle was at a charity event at the gun range at Rough Creek Lodge and Resort on behalf of his Dallas-based security...

GENEVA — Despite the rhetoric from both sides over the need for stricter gun control regulations — and the fear instilled by a rash of random shootings in public places nationwide — statistics show relatively few people will fall victim to violent, firearm-related crimes committed by strangers, according to a new study by the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics. That study shows strangers committed about 38 percent of non-fatal, violent crimes including rape, robbery and assault in 2010, the most recent data available. Of that amount, only an average of 10 percent used a firearm while committing the crime. In...

Becoming the “Filth of the World” "We have been made as the filth of the world . . ." —1 Corinthians 4:13 These words are not an exaggeration. The only reason they may not be true of us who call ourselves ministers of the gospel is not that Paul forgot or misunderstood the exact truth of them, but that we are too cautious and concerned about our own desires to allow ourselves to become the refuse or “filth of the world.†“Fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . .†(Colossians 1:24)...

Our former U.S. Vice President Al Gore just sold one of his business holdings and earned a bit profit – and he contradicted himself while doing it. Gosh, I am shocked! Aren’t you? The headlines tell us that Gore is being pummeled with criticism from his fellow liberal-progressives because he sold Current TV, a television network that he co-founded, to Al Jazeera, a television network based in Qatar. In the liberal-progressive worldview, this transaction is problematic on two accounts. For one, Gore did business in an oil-producing country (Qatar), and for liberal-progressives, this is an un-forgivable sin. In their view,...

If you go to the verified Twitter account for Bob Menendez, @SenatorMenendez, and look at who he’s following, you see a lot of Twitter accounts that would make sense for a senator to follow: Dept. of Agriculture, HUD, the Mercer County NJ Democrats, etc. @Unapologeticxx? Who’s that? If you Google “Unapologeticxx,” you can see that the young lady has an Instagram account. And here’s one of the pictures she’s posted: And another: - Defense rests, your honor.

ZealousConscript wrote: As far as the cost of prescription medicine, I would suggest "The $800 Million Dollar Pill" by Merrill Goozner. Pretty damning evidence about how Big Pharma uses government funding to research drugs, then turns around sells them at astronomical cost in order to increase their profit margin.- Don't Let Obama Kill "Pills for Profit"Dear Comrade Zealous,Strike one is that Goozner is from Chicago. Strike two is that Goozner was the Chief Economics Correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. And there is one thing worse than being an economist, and that’s being a journalist. Some things are easy to mock, such as Al Gore – Pope Gorus IV of the Holy Church of Global Warming – selling his Current TV for hundreds of millions of oil dollars. But some other things are so bizarre it’s difficult to mock them because they come across as mockery already. Such is the case with the “Capitol Wellness Expo” happening on Capitol Hill this week. The master of ceremonies for the event is a woman named Judy Kosovich, an attorney who, among other things, has written of the need for people to reconnect with the Earth. OK, that’s...

Three Wilmington churches were struck by graffiti vandals early Saturday morning, police said. The vandals stenciled the words "brain washed" on statues, exterior walls, doors and stairs, according to the Rev. Philip Early, pastor of Saint Thomas of Villinova and Saint Dorothy's Catholic churches. A nearby Congregational church was also damaged. Early said, "Acting out accomplishes nothing." The graffiti was discovered early Saturday morning as several funerals were about to get underway.

At the start of the new year, things looked bright for U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, Hudson County's federal legislator by way of Union City, Hoboken and North Bergen. He won re-election in November and he is in line to take over as chairman of the ultra-powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Now the committee is a punchline. Menendez has suddenly become the media's Lindsey Lohan of the Capital Beltway. I've known the senator since he was a teen aide for his mentor, the late state powertician Bill Musto, who was mayor of Union City and a highly influential New Jersey state...

"Lawsuit contends council hired, protected, covered up for fraud"A group of Islamists in the United States, the Council for American-Islamic Relations, has admitted that actions by an “attorney” in one of its offices were outrageous, according to a filing in a legal battle over the liability that stems from the fact the man represented as a “resident attorney” wasn’t a licensed lawyer. The case, which consolidated several earlier complaints, alleges that CAIR, which was named by the U.S. Justice Department as an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, was aware that its “resident attorney” and “manager for civil rights” at a now-defunct Maryland-Virginia...
