The federal judge overseeing former President Trump’s classified documents case granted his request to delay a few deadlines further so prosecutors can evaluate the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling. Trump’s lawyers on Friday asked Judge Aileen Cannon for permission to file more documents to argue that the former president should be immune from prosecution in the case. In their motion this week, Trump’s team proposed a schedule that extends through early September, meaning a ruling wouldn’t come until at least the fall. On Saturday, Cannon, a Trump appointee, said prosecutors and special counsel Jack Smith had until July 18 to respond...

Diplomats and world leaders preparing for next week’s NATO summit are privately expressing acute concern about President Joe Biden’s age, health and ability to win the 2024 presidential election. But they have reacted to Biden’s recent debate performance with dismay and fear that Biden may be too frail to defeat Trump and lead a global superpower. POLITICO spoke with 20 people connected to NATO or the alliance’s upcoming summit over the past month...

It’s the story of every government subsidy: Offer folks handouts if they meet certain requirements, and suddenly a lot of people . . . meet the requirements. Cover the full cost of something — especially it’s something pricey, like health insurance — and the number zooms off the charts. That’s what’s happening in the case ObamaCare subsidies President Biden and fellow Democrats generously expanded, with those getting handouts actually exceeding the number entitled to them, a new report from the Paragon Health Institute found. The improper claims are costing American taxpayers an estimated $15 billion to $26 billion a year,...

VIDEOThis new method of BBQing pork ribs has completely changed the way I cook them. OUT is the hit and miss (mostly miss) 3-2-1 method and IN is the very reliable lard infusion method which I discovered from watching the Mad Scientist BBQ (video link below). Basically, while you BBQ your ribs you also have an aluminum pan with lard next to the ribs which absorbs the smoke. As the Mad Scientist BBQ Guy explains the meat won't absorb some of the smoke but the melted lard will so towards the end of your cooking you cover the ribs with...

Scientists in South Africa have been stunned to discover that termite mounds that are still inhabited in an arid region of the country are more than 30,000 years old, meaning they are the oldest known active termite hills. Some of the mounds near the Buffels River in Namaqualand were estimated by radiocarbon dating to be 34,000 years old, according to the researchers from Stellenbosch University. “We knew they were old, but not that old,” said Michele Francis, senior lecturer in the university’s department of soil science who led the study. Her paper was published in May. Francis said the mounds...

A fierce week of campaigning ahead of tomorrow's second round in the election for 577 seats in France's National Assembly. The National Rally message focused on Emmanuel Macron his policies and what Marine Le Pen described as Macron's "coup" to make government appointments ahead of the final round of voting. The RN also focused its attack on the "chaos" of the Left. Meanwhile the New Popular Front focused on demonization of the "Far-Right" and what rule by the RN would mean for France. President Emmanuel Macron's moderate ENSEMBLE faction pulling many candidates out of three-way races to prevent RN victories....

In over 70 attacks, they have sunk two vessels, seized another and killed at least three seafarers.

President Biden managed to gain ground on former President Donald Trump in key battleground states and trails by only 2% — even after his disastrous debate performance last week, a new poll shows. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, leads Democrat Biden 47% to 45%, in the crucial states needed to win the November election, according to a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult tracking poll released Saturday. It’s the smallest gap since the poll began in October. Although Biden is losing in Pennsylvania, the state where he grew up, he now leads Trump in Michigan and Wisconsin. He’s also within the poll’s...
