Kennedy Jr. has called on former President Donald Trump to formally debate him during the upcoming Libertarian National Convention taking place in Washington, D.C. later this month. Kennedy, who issued the debate invitation via X on Tuesday, stated that he will also be attending the Libertarian National Convention as a speaker, and that the party would be willing to organize the debate during their speaking time. He cites his polling numbers in both a hypothetical match-up with Trump and in a three-way race including both Trump and Biden. Additionally, Kennedy views the Libertarian National Convention...

In 2010, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was experiencing memory loss and mental fogginess so severe that a friend grew concerned he might have a brain tumor. Mr. Kennedy said he consulted several of the country’s top neurologists, many of whom had either treated or spoken to his uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, before his death the previous year of brain cancer. Several doctors noticed a dark spot on the younger Mr. Kennedy’s brain scans and concluded that he had a tumor, he said in a 2012 deposition reviewed by The New York Times. Mr. Kennedy was immediately scheduled for a...

Biden administration officials raised concerns about Hunter Biden appearing in public with President Joe Biden while authorities investigated him for tax and gun violations, emails released upon a FOIA request show. Hunter made a series of public appearances with his father between 2021 and 2023. The appearances seemed to be a part of a public relations scheme to normalize the revelations discovered on his “laptop from hell.” The public appearances were not welcomed by Biden officials, who scrambled to handle the implications of potential indictments, according to emails released by the State Department under FOIA.

Vladimir Putin wore thick make-up with his eyebrows darkened and used cheek filler when he was sworn in for a fifth term, says a security expert. -snip- Prof Anthony Glees, from the University of Buckingham, told The Mirror that Putin was “heavily made up” for the event including user filler. It comes with the Russian leader having typically tried to give a macho image of himself whether it is riding shirtless on horseback or doing judo. “The doors open and Putin ambles in, greeted by an adoring audience. He is followed by a goose-stepping presidential guard of in uniforms,” said...

The Georgia Election Board voted Tuesday to reprimand Fulton County and appoint an independent monitor for the 2024 election for violating state law while conducting a recount of the 2020 presidential election. In a 2-1 vote on the panel that oversees how counties conduct elections, members agreed to admonish Fulton County and order a monitor for this year’s campaigns. That allows the county to avoid paying a fine or having the attorney general investigate the double-counting of 3,075 ballots and other allegations of irregularities during the 2020 presidential recount. Georgia election officials determined mistakes in 2020 by county election workers...

I thought you might be interested in Claude AI's responses to my simple questions about education. Given the protest problems on our universities at present, I was interested to see if Claude might touch on that matter without any prompting (It didn't, but did mention the issue of bias). As an aside, Claude isn't trained on up-to-date news, but, from other discussions, I have noticed that he is certainly aware of the biases of most universities. I am always waiting for Claude to cut the BS and say something like, "Let's cut the bullsh*t. I, Claude, can replace all universities...

Gardeners can buy a new seed, a genetically modified tomato the FDA barely looked at and GMO proponents hope will win Americans over to more modified foods. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As spring gardening approaches, a new contender has entered the fray—the genetically modified (GM) Purple Tomato. Unlike its GM predecessors, the GM Purple Tomato is not destined solely for the fields of commercial agriculture—it has made its debut in the backyards of home gardeners across the United States. With claims of heightened antioxidant levels and potential health benefits, this novel creation has stirred both excitement and controversy among consumers and scientists alike....

WASHINGTON, Saturday, May 7. The statements which were received here today, and which are entitled to belief, are that Gen. LEE made a tremendous and violent attack to pierce our centre, hoping thereby to divide our forces and to secure a victory; but Gen. HITCHCOCK's corps came to the relief, and, amid a murderous fire, formed in line of battle, and thwarted the designs of the rebels. The loss was heavy on both sides. Gen. SHERIDAN was profitably engaged in another part of the field, and sent the Chief in command a message that he had routed STUART's cavalry. The...

National Security Council chief Tzachi Hanegbi spoke about a military operation in Rafah, stressing that, "the decision has been made - the question is not if, but when." Speaking to Israel's "Meet the Press" program, Hanegbi said, "Sinwar is living on borrowed time." "He escaped from one burrow to the next, we were very close to him. There are those who would say that we were incredibly close, at one point. Maybe even less than a few days." Comparing Sinwar to Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was eliminated by US forces in 2011, Hanegbi promised that Sinwar "won't...

CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig said Tuesday on “The Source” that during the New York business record case, adult film star Stormy Daniels’ cross-examination by former President Donald Trump’s lawyers was “disastrous.” Honig said, “It’s hard for me to believe that a juror heard that and thought, this is entirely made up. There may well be some embellishments…but I think it’s quite clear they had sex in 2006 in that hotel room. But the cross-exam, boy, her responses were disastrous. I mean, ‘Do you hate Donald Trump?’ Yes. Of course, she does. That’s a big deal. When the witness...

Russia said on Wednesday that sending NATO troops into Ukraine would potentially be extremely dangerous, and Moscow was closely watching a Ukrainian petition that called for such an intervention. The petition, posted on the Ukrainian president's website, says Ukraine should ask the United States, Britain and other countries to send troops to help it repel Russia's invasion. "We have repeatedly said that direct intervention on the ground in this conflict by the military of NATO countries potentially carries enormous danger, so we consider this an extremely challenging provocation, nothing less, and, of course, we are watching this very carefully."
