The Machinist vocation in the Computer Age - the Computer Side Strongly Resembles 3D Printing

Titans of Computer Numeric Control (Machinists) ACADEMY ^ | 06-20-2019 | Charles O'Connell
I sat at a banquet a week ago with a guy who started up, worked, then sold his wholesale machinist biz, in our Sacramento CA suburb, Rancho Cordova. That’s where the money is, in the long run, but for young people starting out, a starting wage of $20, up to $26, is not chopped liver. The happy-stance is that the computer control programming, like specialty AutoCAD, for 3D printing, at local education specialty clubs and for hobbyists, strongly resembles the professional computer application software for machinist vocational training, that now goes by the jargon CNC, for Computer Numerical Control. Our...

As I previously posted, my Dell Vostro 3550 crashed 7 weeks ago, and after a very frustrating extended relationship with Dell, they decided to send me a replacement computer -- albeit a different model (Latitude E6540. Both the old Vostro and the new Latitude run Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. Long story short: I used Windows Easy Transfer (with Belkin Cable) to transfer files from the Vostro to the Latitude -- Success! Now I am trying to get my Outlook data into the Outlook on the new computer. I found my Outlook.pst files in the My Documents folder on...

A new international collaborative study, involving has found computer-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CCBT) has significantly greater impact in treating depression among adults than treatment as usual (TAU). "The remission rate with CCBT was actually double the treatment-as-usual rate, which is the comparator arm, which is not what we expected," Ali said. "We did not expect that this particular patient population would respond as well as they did." The randomized clinical trial included adult primary care patients who scored 10 or greater on the patient health questionnaire–9 (PHQ-9), a screening tool used by health-care professionals to measure the severity of depression...

Attorney Matthew DePerno on votes being flipped from Trump to Biden in Antrim County, Michigan: “It didn’t happen by human error. It happened through a computer program called Dominion Voting System… we took forensic images of that computer system…”In this video, Attorney Matthew DePerno states:“Well the Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said it happened by human error. We’ve discovered that’s not true, that’s a lie. It didn’t happen by human error. It happened through a computer program called Dominion Voting System. And through our lawsuit we were able to get access to the Dominion Voting System program and my team...

Dear friends: I'm having a computer problem I would like some advice/help on. Please be aware that this problem has been ongoing for several weeks, so please don't advise me to reboot or clear out the cache since I've done that several times and it makes no difference whatsoever. And please don't ask if my computer is plugged in or turned on. I don't understand why cruelly having fun at the expense of someone with an issue is so popular here. Daily Motion is an excellent site for watching old movies and TV shows that YouTube won't allow. I used...

My computer has been running fine until now, malwarebytes runs each day as does Windows Defender. I turned my computer off today and came home, turned it on and I get a message that says: The stub received bad data...so far this is when I try to get into malwarebytes program and windows defender. NOt sure about other programs. All of my updates seem to have disappeared. What is a program I can use online to check for a virus? I am not computer savvy when it comes to computer problems. Thanks. Running Windows 10.

Our laptop recently died. The new one does not have a word processor and is a 64 bit memory. Question 1) is there a way around having to rent Word on the cloud? Question 2) Our old files are in 32 bit memory format. Can they be converted to 64 bit format?

I'm sure you've all noticed that I have been missing for a while. Unfortunately, my computer conked out on the 11th of this month and I have been without one since. I also don't know if I will ever get it back. I'm very disappointed (to put it mildly) that a brand new Dell Inspiron computer, purchased at Best Buy on Feb.15 of last year (with help from a total stranger on the Internet) didn't even last a year and a half. It is in the shop but all signs point to it being unfixable. It was already acting a...

I have M-10 system it was slowing down so I purchased an exterior HD and started transferring thing to the F Drive low and behold my system is tell me I have lost my outlook profile.pst file. I don't know where it is I've tried you tube google but it's too confusing for an old geezer. I'm using Yahoo for email and my iPhone, if one of you young wipper snappers know how to make it easy I'll give it a shot. Thanks PS. Not sure I'm using the FR system correctly.

Please, need help with Windows 7 Favorites. The Favorites folders are there but all are empty of their contents. Ran CCleaner, Malwarebytes and Avira a couple days ago and manually deleted the address drop down. Don't know of anything else that could have messed it up. Just did a restore at an earlier date but the file contents are still missing. I made two new files just now but they won't accept contents.

I have a computer question. My dads laptop has several occurrences of a MS Office Outlook Social Connector (7) that were installed in 2013 and 7 instances of some sort of Windows Live Mesh software installed on the same date, but those are in Spanish (I think). Question, can I safely get rid of those programs and can my dad get MS Outlook on his laptop running Win 7 - He likes it better than Live Essentials. Thanks for the help.

My Sony Vaio laptop came with Windows 7 preloaded and no physical disks. I read that there was supposed to be a recovery partition on the hard drive and figured that would be all I needed. To this point, I never had to use it. I do regular backups of my data (documents, music, etc) to an external HD. Yesterday, I was looking at Task Manager and saw a bunch of processes running. I looked at the descriptions of what they were supposed to do and stopped a bunch I thought I did not need. Computer continued to run fine. Long...
