Pablo Lucio Vasquez, 38, told police he was drunk and high when voices convinced him 18 years ago to kill David Cardenas by beating the seventh-grader with a pipe and then cutting his throat. He also told detectives in a videotaped statement that he lifted the boy's body, allowing the blood to drip on his face, and drank it. Vasquez's lethal injection on Wednesday evening would be the 11th execution this year nationally and the sixth in Texas. Vasquez's lawyer, James Keegan, appealed to the Supreme Court for a reprieve so the justices can review whether several potential jurors improperly...

This is what an ISIS rout looks like in Iraq: Up to 300 troops killed. Others missing, possibly dead or having fled. Dozens of military vehicles, from tanks to ambulances, destroyed or seized. And the Iraqi military in disarray, so much so the country’s Prime Minister has sent “anti-terrorism forces … to hold the negligent (military) leaders responsible.” What happened Sunday east of Falluja, around military encampments in Saqlawiyah and Sejar, is bad enough for the Iraqi government. Yet what makes it worse is that it’s happened before. This latest incident was particularly galling because, according to surviving Iraqi soldiers,...

With a range of almost two miles and four tubes attached to a loader, these are the homemade cannon being built by rebel fighters in Syria. The ‘Borkan’ ('Volcano') weapons are built from gas canisters before being placed inside the loader, which can fire four shells at a time. Photos revealed al-Shamiyah Front fighters in Aleppo launching the missiles towards forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad yesterday. The Front was formed more than two months ago after rebel groups fighting in Syria's northern Aleppo province agreed to form an alliance. The images emerged as a group monitoring the war reported...

NOTE: many of you are familiar with Bill Clinton's role in the deaths of many people because of the tainted blood drawn from prisoners in Arkansas while he was Governor. He benefitted with at least campaign contributions. Who knows if he also got an additional cut of the action. Arkansas was the last state in the United States to use donated prisoner blood. I have been communicating privately with someone on Twitter who authorized me to post her communication on FReeRepublic. What did Hillary know and how did she benefit. I have a theory about Vince Foster's death and that...
