Nappy time?

From Old Testament --- Proverbs 20:1 - "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."

Antisemitism burns like a fire, a virus until it consumes one.

Are you accusing me of being antisemitic?

Nothing could be further from the truth. I stand firmly with Israel & the Jewish people. I made a true statement, that the Jewish faith does not accept Jesus as a prophet, let alone the son of the Lord. They are bright people who have contributed significantly to the betterment of humanity.

There is an exception, and that is a group who call themselves Jews for Jesus.

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn is someone I listen to a lot. I enjoy his research. He too believes in Jesus.

There are articles claiming that a Christian can be jailed for preaching Christianity on the streets of Israel, as well as, opposing articles that claim it is not true. I have no clue which is accurate as I have never been to Israel.

You can accept that or reject that, but you have no clue what you are talking about.

If you must know, it was meant in jest, because the Hebrew calendar is not our calendar and exact dates are not that important. It the event that is important.

Another reason why Jesus did not die on Wednesday is that Mary Magdalene and the other women would have bought the spices and taken them to the tomb on Thursday. But because he was buried on Friday, the day of preparation for the Sabbath, they had to wait until the Sabbath was over to buy the spices. That’s why they went to the tomb on Sunday morning. See Mark 16.1.

In addition to "Jews for Jesus", another group like that is "One For Israel", and another interesting and prolific author/youtuber like them is "Dr. Eitan Bar".

(Also, Jesus was Jewish, his twelve apostles were Jewish, Paul was Jewish, etc., and I believe it would be impossible to be a true, genuine, sincere Christian, and antisemitic at the same time.)

And the Lord spake, saying:

“First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.”

Amen.

There were two Sabbaths that week. The legally mandated Annual Sabbath, and of course the one every 52 week Sabbaths.

Sunday night includes 2AM on Sunday. That is night

Ummm, no, that’s early Monday morning, in any time zone.

But you can believe that if you need to do so.

Except then you would need to count Saturday “night” (morning) too - making it four nights.

From what I can find, the Jews counted any part of one day as an entire day:

https://www.oxfordbiblechurch.co.uk/index.php/bible-commentary/new-testament/matthew/2473-matthew-12-39-40-3-days-and-3-nights-a-paradox

Excerpt:

In Esther 4:16 she calls a fast for 3 days and 3 nights before she goes into the king. Then in 5:1 she went into the king on the 3rd day....

Also Rabbi Eleazar ben Azariah (10th from Ezra, 100AD) said: “a day and a night are an Onah (a portion of time) and a portion of an Onah is as the whole of it” (in the Jerusalem and Babylonian Talmud).

**************

In that article, there is another way of perhaps bringing into play a third night. The three hours of darkness during the middle of Friday!

*******************

I read another article where the person looked more at the words “in the heart of the earth”. He somehow linked that term to Jesus’s punishment for the world’s sin which began when he was captured on Thursday night and brought to the various leaders.

He said that was the only time in the Bible that phrase was used.

***********************

Most of the articles that I read say that the Jews at the time would have heard the “three days and three nights” as the day after tomorrow - or on the third day.

*******************

Somewhere in my browsing, one of the Gospel writers makes it sound like Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem was on a Monday, while the other three say Sunday. Someday I might remember to look into that too!

Well, yeah that’s true. All I would say to that is the year system hasn’t changed. I can totally imagine the left wanting to do away with the year counting system all together. Heck, they would prefer to revert to the old ways, where the year depends on where you are, The 4th year of the Biden Dynasty etc..

The statement someone using your user id wrote, “ why would we use the Hebrew calendar if they do not believe that Jesus is the son of the Lord?” is permeated with ignorant antisemitism. The Hebrew calendar is Biblical and sacred because the God whom you profess to know, or to be known of, gave it to His people whom He chose. If some of them did not believe it takes nothing away, for the root is holy, and the lump is holy.

If you have been grafted in, do not boast against the natural branches, but rather in all humility, thank God and all the Jews who made that possible, of whom we are not worthy.

It is tough for a Bible-believing Christian to be an anti-Semite after reading Romans 11; Paul lays it out clearly there.

“...if the root is holy, so are the branches. If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you...”

Whatever.

It was meant as a joke. I guess it slipped right over people's heads. The Hebrew calendar had been in exitance thousands of years prior Christ being born. Jesus then birthed Christianity. Christ was born in the lands of Judea.

The Julian calendar came is the days of Julius Cesar Cesar era around 40 BCE, while the Gregorian calendar came into being after the birth of Jesus.

The joke was born in my twisted brain out of the posters ridiculous post title. It was all about calendars, and nothing more.

You can take it as whatever you desire, I do not care. However, I without any question harbor zero antisemitic animus towards the Jewish people.

So give it a rest.

Oh please. No it isn’t antisemitic. I know Robert DeLong; his posting history shows clearly that he is NOT an anti-semite. Nor is he ignorant.

Thank you. It was all meant as a joke, because of the title the poster chose to introduce his post. Dates, days of the week etc., are insignificant. The act is the important part. If you believe the act occurred, nothing else matters.

In Exodus 12.2, the Lord tells Moses and Aaron that “this month” (meaning the month of the Passover) is to be the first month. So why do Jews now use the Babylonian calendar when the new year begins in the fall?
