Conclusion
So, heres the evidence I have presented for why the Shroud of Turin is clearly a hoax:
- The forger who made the Shroud of Turin confessed and the earliest definitive mention of the shroud in any historical source is a record of his confession.
- The Shroud of Turin doesnt match the kinds of funerary wrappings used in Judaea in the time of Jesus or the description of Jesuss own funerary wrappings given in the Gospel of John.
- The linen of the Shroud of Turin has been securely dated using radiocarbon dating to between c. 1260 and c. 1390 ADwell over a millennium after Jesuss death.
- The figure on the Shroud of Turin does not have anatomically correct proportions and much more closely resembles figures in fourteenth-century Gothic art than a real human being.
- The bloodstains on the Shroud of Turin are not consistent with how blood actually flows naturally and they instead appear to have been painted on.
- The fabric of the Shroud of Turin is made with a kind of weave that is known to have been commonly used during the Late Middle Ages, but does not seem to have been used for burial shrouds in Judaea in the first century AD.
All the evidence points to the inexorable conclusion that the Shroud of Turin is a late medieval hoax.
The fact that the Shroud of Turin is a hoax doesnt make it any less interesting as a historical artifact; it may be a hoax, but it is still an extremely famous hoax that is probably around seven hundred years old and that can reveal a lot about the nature of religious hoaxes in late medieval France. The Shroud of Turin is worth studying, then, not as an authentic ancient relic, but rather as an authentic medieval religious artifact.

Why would blood “flow” from a crucified “corpse”?

It could be a fake but how was it made? Nobody seems to be able to make a copy. And many, many have tried.

BINGO!
Even in the 21st century, science STILL cannot replicate the Christ shroud including the 3D image.

Why would blood flow from a crucified corpse?Blood takes hours to coagulate in the capillaries. It may still leak or ooze out of any post-mortem cuts or penetrations.
After death the blood is no longer under pressure, but, yes it could certainly still ooze onto a burial wrapping.
I doubt that Christ's wounds could have clotted while He was being crucified.
FR no doubt has some medics. Perhaps they will chime in.

The "confession" is also third-hand hearsay. I can see a Schiff hearing coming soon with this as his star witness. He just has to figure how to tie it into Russian collusion.

Fake news. Besides, it isn't enough to simply say "it's fake because..."
Nay sayers must explain how the image is created in 3 dimensions. AND a bunch of other things that are peculiar to The Shroud.

cool.
i wrote this about the shroud
Anncr: We’re here in the sleepy town of Turin, at the final resting place of the Shroud of Turin. Mother Superior. We’ll give you $50 for that shroud.
(he takes it and rips it in half to the horror of the nuns)
Anncr: we’ll wash this half in detergent alone, and this half in detergent plus blorox bleach. to prove, blorox is much better at getting out those supernatural impressions than detergent alone.

I find this all very interesting. And if true, we know the blood type of Jesus. Type AB. So those of you out there with type AB, just think, you have the same blood type as Jesus!
Anyway, this shroud could be real just as easily as it can be a fake. Just because we cannot replicate it today, does not mean it cannot be done. Heck, we can not reproduce half of what is found in Egypt, yet those pyramids stand before us.
Bottom line, the people before us were not quite as useless as we seem to think. That of course does not mean the shroud is a fake, but cannot be used as a reason why it is authentic either.
I absolutely love historical mysteries and this one is one of the greats.
