James 1:22
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Hypocrites are deceived by their own hypocrisy, it brings destruction to unbelievers, and it dishonors God.
The con artist gets your money, because you didn't realize you were being deceived.
If you had known you were being deceived you would not have let it happen.
Put me on your ping list. Thanks in advance.
One KJV reader and believer and doer here...
Should your representative in Congress be a rubber stamp for everything that Speaker Ryan wants to do? Practically all politicians seem to be hypocrites, it’s just that some are worse than others.
I love the KJV for its poetry but read the NIV for clarity. I’d like to be on your list as well.
Please add me to your ping:
As stated in my profile, KJB only all other so-called versions are absolute perversions. The Devil loves them though “Yea hath God said”!
I was glad to see you referenced the King James Bible and not the king james “version”, which is another subtil form of perversion, yea I’m that much of a nit-picker.
Put me on your list as well...I love the KJV for its truth and read it for its clarity...In my view it is the preserved word of God in the English language...
Thank you!
Hold on a minute. You cannot open a Religous Caucus thread and make a political statement like this. No more than you could say that NIV readers are going to Hell.
What about the New KJV, (NKJV)?
Before I pitch in on this I need to make sure you are onboard with the true KJ Bible. What version or edition are you defending?
Will the King James Caucus subscribe to the beliefs and opinions of the actual KJV translators that is recorded in the original preface?
It is recommended reading.
I believe the correct acronym is KJV not KJB. Even in your own picture it says KJV.
I’m not sure, is this is just an announcement post?
If it’s one of your little “inclusive” group’s post, then why am I getting it?
If I continue to get them, having not signed up to, I will feel free to comment as I like.
You want to be able to preach to the whole FR congregation, yet only want to hear back from your own little study group.
While I reference almost any bible version, I use the NIV as it fits the closest with the Greek that the new testament was written in and today’s americanized English
As my first choice of a parallel I use the NKJV. The KJV is just too hard to read/understand with all it’s archaic words.
As far as a “bible” believer goes, count me one. The bible is absolutely the inspired word of God.
But you said “if you disagree that the KJB is the preserved word of God.....”
This suggests to me that you are saying that “ONLY” the King James Bible is “is the preserved word of God”.
That just isn’t TRUE!
King James was an honorable man and did a GREAT JOB of having the bible translated as accurately as he could. Not “perfect”, but very well done.
The translators used many versions themselves... “The King James Version translation effort was based primarily on the Bishops’ Bible, but the translators also used the Tyndale, Matthew, Coverdale, Great, and Geneva Bibles.....”.
It truly is a GREAT work.
I think the English translation of the Codex Sinaiticus reads like a combination of KJV and NKJV.

ALL versions/translations can be “inspired by God”, whose to say? God can’t inspire writers/translators today?
The Holy Spirit is “limited” to the KJV?
Does that not sound RIDICULOUS on it’s face?
The ONLY reason for “King James ONLY” is memorization. If your church switches versions, all those verses you memorized don’t match now.
I never thought much of “memorization”. Knowing what verses “MEAN” is far more important than quoting chapter/verse.
I await being booted from your sanctimonious little click.
In a “normal” caucus thread, the denomination of the caucus can’t discuss other denominations. Extending that, I assume in a caucus based on a specific version of the Bible there can’t be discussion of other translations — and I see all kinds of shade being thrown. All kinds.
Here is an example.
1Cor 15 KJV
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
NIV
20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
The KJV has it past tense, they were asleep but not now.
The NIV confuses it.
Romans chapter 8
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. future,
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. past tense, it had already happened.
You should notice that in verse 17 Paul said we may be also glorified together, meaning future.
but you can see that in verse`s 28,29 and 30 he is talking about the ones who have already been glorified, he is plainly talking about the ones who have slept but went with Christ. past tense.
Some of the different versions will clarify some things but over all the KJV and the Douay Rheims from what i have read of it are the two best.
Does NKJV count?
Well, I see the naysayers, whiners and snowflakes got their wish, oh well
There you go again. The flipping hypocrisy came from LYING RYAN... He refused to allow anyone but his own donors to pen his legislation.. What does God say about things done in ‘secret’?
Ping for later, and can I be on your list?
Please put me on your ping list.
