God have mercy on his soul...

I was living in California when I became a believer - his ministry gave me my first bible for free.
Never really followed him much (I was broke) , but he did give me the Word ...

A Bible is a very good thing. God probably used the church (instead of a donkey) to give you his word. :-) But this does not make his teachings, which are completely contrary to God’s word, valid.

Well, he sure was off on a lot of stuff.......
I never realized how bad it was and what impact he had on upcoming generations of preachers and televangelists.
Thank God there’s old standby’s still available like Tozer.

My godly mom was suckered by his feel-good theology during my childhood. I didn't know much about him either, and only became aware of his heretical, unbiblical teachings through The Seduction of Christianity, by Dave Hunt and T.A. McMahon.

You are correct God did have mercy on him for a time. Now he will spend eternity longing for the comfort of the bed and sickness he died in and with for it would be pure bliss compared to his state now.

This book helped my family as well! Dave Hunt took a lot of flack for this expose of false teaching, but the “Seduction of Christianity” helped my family and thousands of others to see through this deception.

David Hunt has been very vilified for sure.
I never found much wrong with what he said.

Hope he knew The Lord Jesus Christ and was known by Him.
(Early on, I confused the Crystal Cathedral with Mormonism. Never did get fully straightened out on the differences and don’t want to now.)

I’ve just been digging into some Tozer books I’ve had on my shelf for years, and wow have they been helpful.
I’ve read them before, but they didn’t have the impact they are having now.
I kind of wonder why it is that I didn’t get this stuff sooner. I have friends who are also asking the same thing. Why do we have to be getting so far along in years before we really GET it.

I could be wrong, but I don't see how he could have truly known the Lord...

After watching him a few times, I realized he was not someone I should listen to. I remember reading the book about his daughter’s accident. I also read the 2 books about Tara Nason who suffered a severe brain injury. Her dad worked with Schuller back then. I think he led many people astray.

Wow! You are right to be concerned about his eternal destination. Sounds extremely New Agey to me.
I never paid any attention to the man, as he seemed smarmy to me, but not one of those beliefs will get you within shouting distance of glory.

It is too late for that now... Many had warned him of his false, "another of a different kind" so-called "gospel" and had warned him to repent and come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and to forsake preaching his false gospel before it was eternally too late, but he would not. So now he finds himself in a Christless eternity (Luke 16:22b - 23a).
Thank you for listing just some of Schuller's heretical teachings. Sadly, as you have mentioned he has led countless millions to Hell with him and left a bitter legacy of a next generation of false teachers, some of whom you arightly named, who are following in Schuller's teachings and foot steps and exponentially leading countless millions more to Hell.

He taught that the whole purpose of Christ was so you "feel good"

I may be wrong about this (it's always possible!) but according to your theology, Schuller couldn't possibly have had had an impact on anybody relative to their salvation, could he? Because if they were predestined to salvation, they were saved; if they were predestined to damnation, they were damned; this is required by the sovereignty of God; and neither their own choices nor Schuller's supposed "influence" could have changed their eternal destiny.
To clarify, I don't believe that. But I thought you did?
I won't mind if you correct me if I'm wrong. In fact I would be happy.
