.When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so, Francis said.

If He isn’t divine, then the Pope needs to find a new profession.

I don’t believe in the literal six days of creation. But it’s not because I don’t think God is up to the task. I reach this conclusion based on other evidence. Having said that God could have certainly created everything in minutes, hrs, days, or years if He wished. He is God and can do as He wishes.
Francis statement that He could not have done it based on a literal interpretation of Genesis indicates that Francis doesn’t know much about God. He is a phony and a false Pope.

Could it be that the Pope has never prayed a simple sinners prayer?
Here is a oldy but a goody
God Be Merciful to me a sinner, thank you Jesus for dying on the Cross for my sins, Come into my life Lord Jesus, I turn to you Lord God from my sins through faith in Christ Jesus, Lord Save me!
Something along those lines, he can word it himself but it MUST include what Jesus did on the cross for us, that He died on the cross for our sins.
Then he should begin to read from the Gospel of John from chapter 1
Then begin to Praise The Lord and thank him for who he is etc
Obviously he has not done this.
God Bless the man whatever his real name is, in Jesus Precious Holy Name
AMENmay he be saved and filled with the Holy Ghost

Just cuz I don’t understand how He does it, doesn’t mean He doesn’t do it. His ways aren’t ours. And we should be thankful for that.

I do not see evolution and creation being in conflict but i do have a problem with how evolution is taught because some of the public general ideas on evolution is both unproven and impossible per evolutions own theory.
That said.. on the Popes claims God is not magical.. no he is not.. but the creation of water in to wine does appear as magic to the not believer.. so what is the Popes point?..
if you can resurrect the dead....

Every pope is satanic. Even the one I thought was ok, pope John Paul. Do a little research. Catholic clergy are no better than the Pharisee’s. They twist scripture and add to it till it’s almost unrecognizable. I expect to get flamed by the Catholics but I DON’T CARE ANYMORE. It’s time people started calling out this false religion. Remember when ratzinger, (sure I spelled that wrong) was in charge or receiving ALL sexual abuse cases by priests? He really acted on that info huh? I’ve apologized on here before for speaking the truth on this perverted religion when someone was offended, but NO MORE! Face the truth or continue to worship falsely.

It sure looks like the Salon article. I just don’t think the Pope would say that.

Nevermind, I found the
source, and you are correct, it is a mistranslation.
In Italian:
E così la creazione è andata avanti per secoli e secoli, millenni e millenni finché è diventata quella che conosciamo oggi, proprio perché Dio non è un demiurgo o un mago, ma il Creatore che dà lesse.
In English:
And so the creation has been going on for centuries and centuries, millenniums and centuries until it became what we know today, because God is not a demiurge or a magician, but the Creator who gives them.

The item tha fouls it all up is the literal meaning of "time"...6 days of work and one of rest. Literally taken,"day" means a 24 hour day, that makes God a magician. But if you discard literal "time" and think of 7 eons...6 of work, one of rest, then evolution can ONLY be God's handiwork. When you look at the complexity of evolution, only a well-beyond-human entity could conceive of it, then put it into motion, executing it perfectly. Personally, I see no theological barrier between church doctrine and Darwinism...(and sort of chuckle to myself when I hear the arguments). But using MY hypothesis...we are now in "Monday" of the second "week" of God's work. And if evolution is still His tool for this new working phase...we might just evolve ourselves right out of business. And He will watch in eternal wonder as His tool applies to an infinite future which may not even include us...with God's amazing tool of evolution, we may be discarded for something yet even closer to His definition of perfection. My God has a master plan beyond my understanding...and with some of the evolutionary dead-ends, and strange creatures that have resulted, I also believe (my) God must have a sense of humor. Ants are basically far more functional than humans. They were here before us and will probably outlast us. So which species may be a success and which could be a failed evolutionary experiment? It makes me wonder at the time wasted on the argument. And God smiles.
.... How 'bout those Royals last night !
