The 'LEFT' finally found an issue they could blow up and make hay with - with the stupid media's support of course ...EXACTLY!!!!
To: Founding Father
he has that give up without a fight [a] character trait that all good little republicans haveSad to say, this is true. I can't believe, after all the harping he's done about staying in there and fighting the good fight, he rolls over and resigns.
I like Rush, I've been listening for 12 years, I'm a Rush 24/7 subscriber and I'm a black female, but I gotta call 'em like I see 'em - Rush, you messed up, fella! To heck w/your comments. They weren't racist. But you messed up by bowing to the liberals and by backing down.
There are a lot of us - black or hispanic conservatives, conservative students on liberal campuses, people who live in liberal areas - lots of different people who love conservatism and put up with a lot of crap every day, but they don't back down. They live their principles. I was hoping you'd do the same, Rush. Just my opinion, but you should have made them fire you.

I saw it when it happened. It was a strange moment on the show, like Berman didn't want to give him the floor, then when he did Limbaugh looked like he was dying to let this out and I just thought "that sure was strange, they gonna let Limbaugh talk like that on there?" Then I thought about ESPN's new show "Playmakers", which shows the disgusting side of football, and I thought "well I guess anything goes on ESPN anymore". Guess I was wrong.

Dusty whathisname should not have said his comments about white baseball players. He is black and said a racist as**ho** thing about white people. He kept his job ONLY BECAUSE HE WAS BLACK.
This makes sense, to cut the losses.
Time to go after McNabb's endorsements. Which canned soup does he endorse? Rember FR freeped Lipton.

FOLKS: WELCOME BACK TO BASEBALL and NASCAR !! Whatever. I'll keep baseball, but I'm not about to watch cars go around and around in circles all day.

"Garbage or not, Rush put the .45 to his head and pulled the trigger. He has no one to blame but himself.
Even though you may think this is for the best, it is still a big, fat shiner in the eye of the Right."
I think the resignation is for the best, as it is the quickest way to quell all the media hype. While I certainly don't think Rush's comments were racist, I'm still surprised he made them. I don't really want politics in my football and I'm not sure Rush's point actually applies to McNabb. Agreed, this isn't great for conservatives, but it will blow over. Just as the Trent Lott remarks did.

I also saw O'Reilley this evening and he had a black sports writer on from Philly and they both agreed that what Rush said was not correct , but they also said Rush was not a racist nor should he be fired from ESPN. I watched that segment also, and unfortunately when watching TV I am usually washing, dishes, cooking, washing clothes etc. at the same time so.....The sports columnist also pointed out the fact that the media had alot to blame for this mindset because of the big hoopla they make over black quaterbacks and that this is why things like this is said. Yes, the gentlemans name I don't have, but he is black and a sports columnist that writes for the Philidelphia Times.
Rush in his resignation statement pointed out that his comments were targeted to the MEDia. And FOXNEWS also just reported his resignation. But no statements were read.

I disagree with everyone who thinks what Rush did was stupid; or that his social commentary was out of line. He DID put his money where his mouth is. He treated himself as the proverbial "minority" in his being hired by a major network; and then in "commenting" as he did. Conservatives are a minority in nearly all media outlets and venues. And in the "equality" game, he said an "equality" statement that has so often, so liberally been uttered by "libs/minorities" about whites, or Cablasians, etc.
Rush defended football when the feminists were out to get it banned, censored, and whatnot (Feminists: during Superbowl breaks, women are being violently beaten every year, every game, ad nauseum). Rush did this. And here, on ESPN, Rush did another "unthinkable". He acted upon the very same Free Speech rights accorded to all liberals and their "allies". Some figure this to be a wrong thing to do. Upholding Rush always as a "standard" of good "bearing". This standard of "good bearing" of "perfection" is the very whipping stick the liberals use to smear, slime and denigrate some very solid fair and sensible people.
Oh How Angry the left is that Rush Dares to Assume he is of the "Liberal -- Annointed, Elitist" class.
Rush just took out, by his very action, another strawdog tactic of the left by which they use to slam everyone "conservative" or "Republican". IMHO, Rush has expanded his audience. Losses go to the pigskin.

Same here, I like Fox pregame show. Berman and Company give me a headache. They act like children that run around screaming for attention. Well I won't even be watching the 11-12noon part of their show. Rush knew the rules,no politics, and even though he was mostly right he had to know that disney/abc would catch all kinds of crap if they did not force him out,and the bosses always have the final word, even gutless ratba$tards Too bad he got himself involved with communist scum.

That said, It is obvious to me the Left, sensing that they are REALLY LOSING, are doing everything they can to start a race war in this countryThat is why, as sad as this sounds, those conservatives in positions like Rush must do everything possible to stop giving ammo to the left. Fair? NO. Reality? YES? That is the way it is.

If someone compiles a list of ESPN advertisers, please post it as a separate thread. I can find time in the next week to fire off some emails to them, letting them know exactly why I will no longer be watching ESPN.
