Barnes on the issue of specifics: These are votors, not political scientists.

I think both Schwarzenegger and McClintock did very well. Schwarzenegger is the rallying persona and McClintock is the detail man.
I just saw footage on Fox of the candidates rising and shaking hands and just the video/pic told the story as they stood in a group: Schwarzenegger was the leader.
I would love it if McClintock would join forces with Schwarzenegger.
What a fun debate.

A plea from a PA Freeper: Come together out there and unite behind one Republican candidate, President Bush is counting on you to help him win in 2004

Nevermind, that idiot Matthews won't let Caddell answer the questions.
To: Samurai_Jack
Please refer to him as Cruz Pickfordelmonte. Trust me. It's a far more effective satirical weapon.

This has been a good discussion. Let's keep it that way. <P. That sounds like a great idea ..

The panel is saying Tom did the best.In which I agree. I do believe he should have ignored that annoying mosquito.
To: ambrose
Arnold wins style, Tom wins substance We know what the more motivating factor is when swaying John Q. Public is, don't we?

Yes.

Holy Moly! The lady from NPR is telling Brit Hume that McClintock won and was the most substantive speaker. I think I'm gonna have a heart attack or somethingShe is only saying that because she doesn't believe he has a chance to win. All of the Dems talk about the real conservative, they don't want to give Arnold any recognition. She also said Cruz had a Workers' Compensation plan, that wasn't a plan it was a joke to anyone who understands how it works.

That's a valid point by Barnes....Democrats and Liberals do not study politics, they study power...
To: Texas_Jarhead
As a vocal critic of McC staying in the race, I will be the first to say that I thought he was the most impressive during the debate. However, and this is a huge however, the entire nation actually got to see three, count them, three honest to god, actual bona fide communists running in the same race.
Hyperbole aside, this is essentially a life or death vote. Republicans must unite behind the only person that can possibly win this race for the right. McC should have a significant ministerial role in Arnie's administration. God help us all if Busta wins this thing.

>>>>What??? CSU Monterey, CSU Merced, CSu Modesto??? Wheren't these all built recently???
I wondered the same. Wasn't he around when these authorizations were enacted?
I think he wanted to attack but couldn't come up with a better reason. It made no sense but the symbolism was appealing, and typical of a liberal, he ran with it.
Most Californias won't know the difference and if the media doesn't point out the mistake, no one will ever catch on to his inability to think clearly quickly.

Local coverage on the PBS station here in San Diego had an analysis after the debate.
The first comment was from a guy who thought it necessary to point out how incompetent the moderator was. He gave him the "Ted Baxter Award" for journalistic imcompetance.
How very fitting.
