Question: "Prop 53 raises spending on infrastructure". McClintock says: "The importance of our infrastructure has been overlooked since 1974. My vision involves new era of highway construction, water construction, dams"
Cruz: "We haven't built a new university in CA is 35 years. We're not keeping pace."
Ariana: (not sure what she said)
Camejo: "funding. You pay a fee to go across that bridge." TAX TAX TAX
Arnold: "I am for Prop 53, a good beginning. We should model ourselves after Texas. building 4000 miles of roads"

Sadly, for many, maybe too many, it will take a LOT of courage. Few have the spines that our forefathers possessed.

"Forester's Law holds that "in complicated situations, efforts to improve things often make them worse, sometimes much worse, on occasion calamitous. Those who have seized the leadership of the Democratic Party are practitioners of Forester's Law. They complicate our problems with government solutions that never seem to work. No matter how often a program fails, they prescribe more of the same-at higher cost." - Governor Ronald Reagan, Speech, Feb. 3, 1973.

Bottom line: I think McClintock's won the debate, but Arnold's one liners and good humored comments have been enough to retain the lead in this election. The $10,000,000 question is whether the benefit of having Arnold in this debade outweighs any harm caused by his sticking in the race. I think having him in the race, and thus the debate, is a net plus. It would seem that after tonight's debate McClintock could gracefully say that he and Arnold agree well enough that he can wholeheartedly endorse Arnold. If he did that, he would benefit from having waited to drop out and come across admirably.

no liberal should ever have control of the taxpayer's money, anywhere, any place, or any time.!!!see you and raise you fifty: the liberals want a nanny state, with complete societal control of actions by the people. and they are right. therefore, i propose that reservations be set aside for liberals, and they be put there and kept there and fed and told what to do and never, ever, be allowed such responsibility as would enable them to do harm.

Looking at it from the general public's point of view (i.e., not a partisan's point of view), I think both Arnnie and Tom did very well . . . with Arnold taking it with his humor. The others were a total flop.

Arnold will get rave reviews, and deserves em. Great job. I'm very very impressed with the depth of his knowledge. and tickled silly at the way he's handling Arianna.
But I can't wait to watch Chris Mathews criticize him. One thing you can count on...Chris Mathews first reaction to something is always, always wrong.

I agree! Confiscate every last house, car, bank account that Hollywooders own and distribute to the illegals.

I'm calling this debate for Arnold for beating expectations, and for Tom for substance. Well done for both guys.I essentially agree.
God-awful format, God-awful moderator, all made worse by Arianna, the fingernails on my blackboard of life. Notwithstanding that, I'd score it on content and presentation thusly:
Arnold: content 7, presentation 9, total 16
Tom: content 8, presentation 7, total 15
Cruse: content 3, presentation 5, total 8
Green Guy: content 2, presentation 4, total 6
Arianna: content 0, presentation 1, total 1
