There was no threat made against any minorities or anyone else. There was only the assertion that we would notify the police of threats to disrupt us and we would protect ourselves.

Good. On an open forum like FR you never know what can slip in.

I was surprised how fair the news clip was. Wish they'd shown some of the wonderful stuff from FR, though.

KMJ radio news has been running this all day with only the HRC side of the story stating that posts threatening anyone who came to disrupt with guns have been deleted, but people had saved them for them! It is awful and one sided!

I smell something that stinks and it's Hitlery and Billy Bob's handiwork. Hitlery wants to be Prez and she doesn't want anyone disagreeing with her so she is out targeting.

This is just a taste of what it would be like to have "Ms. Paranoid" as President. Secret police, secret courts, secret trials, secret government, secret military.

They showed up at both and laughed their asses off.

We've got it working now, no problem.

The Windows player on Mac only played the audio (Microsoft says the problem will be fixed in their next release).

Well, don't we just need to point to the hateful things that can be found on any website. Maybe like the comments found on DU. What is is, something about Bush being a Nazi? This isn't hateful?

I understand your point about media savviness and the left's overwhelming control over almost every form of modern media, but this issue becomes more interesting when you look at the manner in which the commission made this decision.

NO ONE from the the HRC contact any member of the Free Republic Forum OR anyone from the independent Fresno chapter, to discuss the policies and/or procedures of either. They heard testimony from a peace activist, someone who is intensly opposed to our point of view.

Before spending almost 200K of the taxpayers money, one would expect those in the city government to investigate the matter more fully. If they would have contacted Jim Robinson, he would have explained that this forum has explicit and stated rules about violence, racism, etc.

So, while I agree that one could find some unsavory comments here at FR, they are, in no way, the predominant discourse. They certainly aren't the norm.

Of course, there may be a less subtle and overwhelming philosophical difference. If these folks consider someone who supports the 2nd amendment as violent and hateful, then they really have their understanding about this country totally out of whack and shouldn't be serving in our government, considering (whether they like it or not) the 2nd amendment, at least for now, establishes the right to bear arms.
