With Simon out, there's only one conservative in the race -- - McClintock's 1) the most experienced; 2) the most knowledgeable; 3) the one with the most well-articulated vision; 4) the one with Reagan-like CONVICTIONS (not convenient "opinions" adopted yesterday -- and subject to change tomorrow; 5) the one who's from the MIDDLE CLASS so he KNOWS that TAXES HURT -- he feels it in his bones, not through a focus group -- so we can trust him to keep his word.
NOTE: LYN NOFZIGER HAS JUST ENDORSED MCCLINTOCK!
No.
He's discussing reality and you've gone into the weeds with a hypothetical.
The great scary boogeyman gambit.
Not working on me, sorry.
Dream up a more convincing approach to derail McClintock.
He does, however, at this time anyway, stand a better chance of defeating pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-tax and spend, pro-illegal immigration do away with the border democRAT candidate cruz bustamante.
Some, however, would rather vote for a candidate they KNOW can't win simply because he better represents conservative views.
That's unfortunate for California, but good for cruz.
Perhaps you forgot recent elections when liberal, pro abortion Republicans -- Tom Campbell, Matt Fong and John Seymour -- got creamed by Democrats in statewide elections. This idea that it's social conservatism that has led to GOP defeats doesn't explain the defeats of socially liberal Republicans.
A well informed voter base can make up their own minds given the facts, thank you.
His "reality" is purely hypothetical, which leads me to believe you have no clue what the word means.
That all depends on what he does with the Gray Davis fiasco, the $50 billion one.
There is no deficit fairy, and that debt must be repaid.
And California could easily live through a 10% budget reduction indefinitely. Scary, huh?
1. there are many more registered Democrats than registered Republicans.
2. There are a handful of Republicans in the State House and senate.
3. CA went overwhelmingly for Gore in the last Pres. election.
4. Gray Davis, a horrible governor, easily (yes easily) beat Bill Simon in the last election for Gubernor of CA.
I think it is safe to assume that this (CA) is a moderate to Liberal state.
Based on the evidence, it is quite obvious that a Conservative Republican has zero chance of being elected. The best that can be hoped for, at this stage, is to elect a moderate as Governor in the hope that this person will pull CA out of it's fiscal morass.
A "moderate" is a giant step to the right, considering the likes of Willie Brown, Gray Davis and Cruz Bustamante.
So, as I see it, we can do the following: We can keep bellowing about the "RINO" Schwartzenegger, refuse to vote for him because of our "principles", cast our vote for another "can't win" candidate OR we can decide that we need to win; that we will not, yet again, as a Party shoot ourselves in the foot.
Agree or disagree with Schwartzenegger, it has to be as plain as the nose on your face that he is the only hope that the GOP takes the Governorship in CA. McClintock, conservative though he may be, cannot and will not win.
We have been demonized way too effectively as that. We need a "star" to defeat the demogoguery of the Left, someone that transcends politics, like Fred Thompson and Ronald Reagan. (Yes, I know, Arnold is no Reagan, which is of course missing the point, again.)
What planet have you been on?
Only "hard-core" conservatives are concerned about runaway defit spending and a $60 billion debt?
Either one would be *HUNDREDS* of times better for the great state of California, than the little communist Davis.
I would settle for either one! Would I like McClintok better? Yes. But again, if forced, settling for Schwarzenegger is many times better than Davis.
Between Schwarzenegger and Davis, is like comparing Bush to Barney Frank. There is no comparison.
First this recall is BS, (Davis was elected and should serve out his term unless he is charges with a crime).
There is a good chance the recall will fail, so why not for once, let conservatives for for a conservative candidate? Why does the GOP always insist, particuarlly in this BS election, that conservatives for for aother RINO? If I lived in Calif. I'd vote conservative.
Whichever choice the new governor makes, he will be incredibly unpopular, and will be lucky to finish the remaining three years without recall. He will not be re-elected.
Thanks for making my point - - - He's Pete Wilson, of course. The original TAXPAYER TERMINATOR. Raised California's taxes by a margin and percentage bigger than ANY STATE-LEVEL TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY!!! Also, a PRO-ABORTION FANATIC who went to the GOP national convention in 1996 and tried to upstage the platform committee by holding a press event demanding that the protection-of-unborn-life plank be removed! Talk about a divisive figure who doesn't care if he stirs contention and gives the media ammunition for their anti-GOP jihads! You're exactly right - - this tax-hiking, social RADICAL liberal (Wilson) has endorsed Arnold. Nough said.
And of course, yours is not.
Do you know what megalomania is?
