When we first got there, I checked out the line. It wasn't that long. But people were holding strange cardboard squares that said funny things like "500," "600," etc. These squares bore no relation to the number of people in line. Someone explained that they represented the number of tickets. Oh. But it didn't seem that these ghost ticket holders ever showed up. ??? Never mind . . .
There were two women near the door to the bookstore holding antiwar signs. They said "Hillary: Why did you vote for an unjust war?" That was fine. They were on the bookstore side of the street and we were on the other side. But then the police decided all protesters had to be together across the street from the bookstore. So we had lefties right in the middle of us, confusing the message.
Then one really obnoxious character decided to be the first one the people in cars saw as they passed the bookstore. Clever of her. At a fast glance it looked like an 8-person pro-Hillary demonstration, instead of 5 freepers who had broken their cookies to get there and 3 left-wing nutcases.
I thought the two groups should have been kept in separate places, but the cops did not agree with me. Thus we were all smooshed together.
We got about half and half positive and negative feedback, I would say. The Vineyard is pretty liberal. One man said, "You must be from Nantucket." So if you're planning a vacation on a Cape Cod island, make it Nantucket, not the Vineyard. We got the usual single digits, thumbs-down, and thumps-up.
It was a polite, intelligent crowd, and Martha's Vineyard is a beautiful, quaint island.
We spotted the Creamsicle-colored pantsuit with capri-length pants as the Fashion Victim exited the store, and gave her some resounding boos that completely downed out any cheers from others.
A fine finale for the last book signing. What was that slogan again? Oh yeah, We Are Everywhere.
And here are the pix:
Don't laugh.
Hillary and her gang members must have been stunned by this audacious FReep on an island. FReepers are everywhere and will protest her everywhere.
Firebrand, great report and photos!
Capri length pants???? Yeeeech!!!!
Great job everyone!
Good call on the spot lickers on the Island.
Yeah, where's Chelsea these days? One minute she's on the cover of the National Enquirer sloppy drunk, being photographed at sporting events with her metrosexual bf, and snapped attending fashion shows. What happened? Oh wait, didn't she just get a job at some think tank? That's it...she's too busy working her tail off earning that fantastic salary!! /sarcasm
We were on the phone with Kristinn several times during the day.
It's almost too bad these book signings are over. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.
Someone took a picture of me wearing a Laura mask and holding a sign that said WHERE'S THE SILVERWARE??? I've been waiting to see that one posted.
Electric? Race? Pix?
When we FReeped her in Little Rock, the Arkansas Democrat/Gazette reported there were "half dozen" demonstrators.
This was BS, even as the reporeterette was getting information there were at least 10 or 12 of us there. Of course, our ranks fluctuated throughout the day, but we never got below eight which was at the end of the FReep.
Even a few Freepers make an impact. Just think how many people were exposed to all of you across the nation!
Good pictures. I'm glad you had pleasant weather. The Vineyard is nice and so is Nantucket, but my absolutely favorite is Block Island. Even more so because they may not even have a book store to push that fraud of a book!
her color palate is all pastels for this tour.
It takes a man to give it a more apt description Have you seen her new...fashion surprise Pepto Bismol in disguise...
Good Work!! I think all of these book signing Freeps are starting to take their toll and her nerves are beginning to unravel.
Witness Hillary's rant against Bush about the blackout. I think she will come to rue that outburst as the investigations begin into the cause. Then everyone will begin to see that it's the Democrats opposition to Bush's efforts from two years ago that delayed attending to the transmission system woes.
It shows up too in her response to talk show hosts. Note her nervousness and almost distraction in responding to questions about the demonstrators. Keeping up the pressure over the coming months, no matter what the venue, will start I think to pay big dividends.
With the police and secret service more cognizant of the role her goons played in her election campaign, her appearances are being "policed" now. Such violence is certainly more carefully watched as a terrorists threat after 9/11. Wouldn't it be wonderful if she again unleashed her goons, and one was picked up for threatening violence. And then under questioning it became apparent he had been hired by Shrill Hill herself!!
A Hillary that is really a Shrillary is not a good vote getter. Hopefully those who campaign against her, either in '04 or '06 will have the cajones to use her rants against her. Showing her abject politicization of every tragedy, plus talking out of both sides of her mouth are good messages to use against her.
