COMBINED Live Thread: DC Chapter's Rally in Support of Our Troops / C-SPAN Live Coverage of Leftists
DC Chapter, Free Republic
Posted on 03/15/2003 6:23:04 AM PST by FreeTheHostages
Good morning. It's a beautiful day in the nation's capital, but the beauty is about to be marred by
Their leftist rally would be covered on CSPAN live starting at noon.
As explained here, here, their anti-American voices will not go unchallenged. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has invited all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the so-called anti-war march being held by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. in Washington, D.C.
I'll be staying at home, nursing a cold that has left me voiceless (hee hee, no doubt to the secret pleasure of many chapter members! ;), handling the live thread. Let's do a combined live thread on the C-SPAN coverage of the leftists and my reports from the field on what's going on with the Right guys, OK?
Today's early morning news, if you're waking up, is that some time before 10 a.m. on our local Channel 4 (NBC), our Chapter Warlord, Kristinn, will be interviewed on why we are expressing a support-our-troops message.
While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations.
The D.C. Chapter will be making a patriotic moral stand against the marchers' anti-Americanism and willful silence about the barbaric, terrorist regime of Saddam Hussein.
We will also be sending a message of support to our men and women in uniform fighting the war on terrorism overseas and on the home-front.
Survivors of Saddam's reign of terror, many of whom are American citizens, will join us to put the lie to those who claim that the Iraqi people do not want to be liberated and to speak out about Saddam's crimes against humanity.
When: Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: North sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 15th Street and 9th Street. Meet at 15th and Penn. at 1 p.m.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America and the war on terror.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 60s.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Breaking News; News/Current Events; War on Terror

Next thing they will claim is that it is by design that the metros are not available to carry their crushing numbers.

Good question. The report I got from the field was "a lot of media," but I didn't want to tie them up on the phone too long because, well, that interferes with them getting the message across to said media. So I don't know at this time exactly which media.
I do know that when CNN has covered these DC leftists in the past, that has included following them along their march route. Which (since today the route) includes "surrounding the White House" will surely happen today. And we're on that March route. We're at Pennsylvania and 15th, near Hotel Washington, on both sides of the street, under U.S. Park Police escort.

Just saw a report on CNN where the guy reported from Atlanta that there are thousands of war supporters. Of course, the stupid broad came on and said there are hundreds of thousands of protesters against the war around the world. CNN shows its colors again.

You know, I'm not sure I didn't hear a bit of paranoia in her ironic lacings on her comments on Metro. She also says that there are still "busses" coming. :) So the idea is all these missing people happen to be late on this day of beautiful weather. Boy, these people really do lie for a living.

Damn. Did they mention the Philly rally again or the rallies next weekend?

A.N.S.W.E.R.? Heres a more apt moniker for them:
Socialist
Evil
Waging
Everlasting
Radicalism
Used in a sentence: Did you smell the reek coming out of that S.E.W.E.R.?

If *anyone* sees any of the national media mention other Rally for Americas -- I know CNN seems to be doing it today -- please post here if you get a chance and let us know. Just so that we'll know it's happening.
I hear CNN has mentioned Philly at least once and is doing live shots of Atlanta.

CNN shows its colors again. No kidding. I honestly have not watched CNN in over 5 years except for about 15 minutes the terrible day we lost the Columbia.

Ramsey Clark and Arafat seem to use the same razor.
Well, it's off now. I don't think I want to tune in for the replay.

HELP! I just got home and caught the tail end of this rally with Ramsey Clark screeching for Bush's impeachment. What are some of the nutty high/low-lights that I missed? I want to be sure to watch for the nutcases tonight when they repeat this rally on C-SPAN.
Please post high/low-lights of the rally here. Remember, the nuttier the BETTER!!!

She also says that there are still "busses" coming. :) BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That was the SAME lame excuse last time that they used to explain the lackluster turnout.

I'll have to put on tin foil for this but it looked CSPAN cut off the woman from the military support network to save the rally from itself. It looked like she was about to say something they'd all regret.

NO American flags and NO denunciation of Saddam. Typical A.N.S.W.E.R. Rally.

Now a Viet Nam vet is crediting the anti-war movement for G.I.'s rebelling and creating a strong Veterans movement who threw their medals at Congress. Well, we all know how poorly the Viet Nam veterans were treated, especially by a Democratic administration headed by LBJ and McNamara. I can't imagine too many of them embrace the Jane Fonda anti-war movement, however. Now, he's waving a Earth Flag instead of the stars and stripes.
