COMBINED Live Thread: DC Chapter's Rally in Support of Our Troops / C-SPAN Live Coverage of Leftists
DC Chapter, Free Republic
Posted on 03/15/2003 6:23:04 AM PST by FreeTheHostages
Good morning. It's a beautiful day in the nation's capital, but the beauty is about to be marred by
Their leftist rally would be covered on CSPAN live starting at noon.
As explained here, here, their anti-American voices will not go unchallenged. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has invited all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the so-called anti-war march being held by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. in Washington, D.C.
I'll be staying at home, nursing a cold that has left me voiceless (hee hee, no doubt to the secret pleasure of many chapter members! ;), handling the live thread. Let's do a combined live thread on the C-SPAN coverage of the leftists and my reports from the field on what's going on with the Right guys, OK?
Today's early morning news, if you're waking up, is that some time before 10 a.m. on our local Channel 4 (NBC), our Chapter Warlord, Kristinn, will be interviewed on why we are expressing a support-our-troops message.
While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations.
The D.C. Chapter will be making a patriotic moral stand against the marchers' anti-Americanism and willful silence about the barbaric, terrorist regime of Saddam Hussein.
We will also be sending a message of support to our men and women in uniform fighting the war on terrorism overseas and on the home-front.
Survivors of Saddam's reign of terror, many of whom are American citizens, will join us to put the lie to those who claim that the Iraqi people do not want to be liberated and to speak out about Saddam's crimes against humanity.
When: Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: North sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 15th Street and 9th Street. Meet at 15th and Penn. at 1 p.m.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America and the war on terror.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 60s.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; Breaking News; News/Current Events; War on Terror

Mohammed's probably pissed that his parents made him attend this freak show when he could be home watching cartoons.

"If war breaks out, Walk out"!
Walk out? Walk out of what? Do any of these losers have real jobs?
Has anyone told them that if they walk-out, they don't qualify for unemployment?

The antiwars HATE for President Bush EXCEEDS their care, concern and hope for America and Iraq and the well-being and safety of the Iraqis and Americans. It is just that simple. They HATE Bush and their protests are nothing more than that. Hate Bush Rallies ... not antiwar rallies. They expose more and more of their agenda each time their get a slot on C-Span. Thank you C-Span for giving America a view into the true agenda of the "antiwars."

his parents made him attend this freak show when he could be home watching cartoons. So true! Someone let the cat out of the bag a few speakers ago when she said, "what we really fight against is the SYSTEM . . . ." Anti-capitalists are we? Someone else claimed we invade democracies. Would that be NAZI Germany?

Iraqi American Council representatives are speaking to the media

I'm getting bored. I may have to tune out for awhile. Now they're taking credit for stopping the war machine in Puerto Rico offering hope to the crowd. Puerto Rico wouldn't expect that war machine to come rescue them should anyone decide to land on their shores and take them over, now would it?

Now they're bringing up the "victory" of protestors in closing the base at Vieques, Puerto Rico against the greatest power in the world and not mentioning that it will also probably close the Rosie Roads base. What morons.

I also gave intelligence *to* our people: I told them that there weren't a lot this time -- that the leftists were apologizing from the stage for their numbers.
There's been some weekend construction/delay on the orange/blue line Metro (subway) system, and one of the leftists from the stage claimed that more were coming and the problem was that there were SO many that Metro had slowed under the crushing weight of their numbers. LOL. Such a bald-faced lie. Our Freepers saw no such thing on the Metro this morning. Oh, the hard left has the usual hard left people there, but they don't have crushing numbers.
There are overhead helicopters that I'm pretty sure were news helicopters about.

Now they're praising France for keeping Saddam in power.

I think it's smart the DC Chapter people brought a LOT of American flags with them today. Should be a good photo op.
To: billsux
LOL. I hear you. I don't have much live updates from the field from our side to share with you, so hockey seems a reasonable choice. Check in with us later, when I may have more news.

Oh yeah, I saw it! Did you see earlier in the thread? CNN was plugging -- well, OK, mentioning -- the Rally for America in Atlanta today and in Philly tomorrow!! CNN had a live shot of the Atlanta rally. (CNN's based in Atlanta, of course, I guess it would have been too embarassing to ignore it.)
To: FreeTheHostages
CNN then MENTIONED THE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS RALLY FOR PHILADELPHIA TOMORROW! This broadcast was at about 12:20 p.m. EST. Good stuff. CNN????? ... WOW
Was listening to the local talk radio and the CBS came on to do the top of the hour news .. I only caught the tail end and someone named Beth was talking and it was mentioned that she was with Free Republic
WAHOOOO ... FREEPERS ARE EVERY WHERE!!!

I always love seeing lots of flags! I saw one about the size of a postage stamp in the ANSWER crowd. Did the DC Chapter say whether or not any Fox News or CNN cameras were there? CNN is covering the lefties, so we know they have crews in DC today.
Brian Becker addresses the crowd as "sisters and brothers."

Yes, yes, yes. CNN did mention too. (I do confess it sucked the air out of my belabored lungs.) And we have been loyally plugging these other rallies whenever we get a chance. That's the message for today: we're here, there are a lot of us in many different cities planning/doing many rallies, and we our PRO-America voices should be heard too.
To: FreeTheHostages
I haven't heard much mention of Saddam. None from the 'screechers', and once from someone soft-spoken.
A pile of fanatics as far as I can see.
Ring-leader Becker on now.
The view of the stage, from the audience, is quite clear --- no American flags to block the view.
