Maybe not walk around but at least stand up and stretch. The cockpit of a BUFF is not much bigger than your average SUV. The cockpit of a B-1 is even smaller, about the size of a Taurus passenger compartment.

I don't find their lying about such things strange at all. I have come to expect that from liberals and socialists.

I love the B-1 -- they come into Tinker for overhaul along with B-52's. See them doing touch and goes after depot maintenance all the time. Next time you watch them, be aware that a fellow Freeper was involved in the design of the radar in the nose.
And also the E-3A AWACS, which I suspect you see at Tinker also.

That's hubby and the kids huddled under a B1. It was taken at an air show this past April at NAS Oceana.

Not to mention the noise difference. *wince* Those B1s are some LOUD bastards on high speed passes.

I was up close and personal a couple of years ago with a B-2 here at Tinker that happened to stop by -- wouldn't want to be in that plane for that many hours.
B-1's are here all the time as Tinker is the depot where they are overhauled. How they ever designed a plane with such a small cockpit to fly so far is beyond me!

I think the guy is right - during the Gulf War we supplied the Iraqi forces with all sorts of munitions! (incoming!) <<< Time for a bit of a history lesson, or at least to help straighten out your terminology.
1. The Gulf War was between the US and Iraq. We probably were not supplying them with any weapons that didn't go BANG first.
2. The Iran/Iraq war was a 9 year war (help-in the 70's I think) during which we gave them some arms to help stop the spread of Iranian fundamentalist Islam.

1 company that makes the JDAM is kicking out at least 2,800 of these a month currently. The production line is running at full force. I won't mention what company it is or where it is, due to safety reasons.

The war has been on for months. It is jus not of the spectacular intensity that is expected of a proper war. Remember the massed marines off Basra that never went ashore in Gulf War I. Perhaps all the massed units in Kuwait will never enter Iraq except as policemen when they are invited in by the new guys who have disposed of Saddam&Co with SpecForces help.

Better known to the troops of Iraq as'Oh Damn' bomb, they start falling the they say 'OH DAMN'!

AWACS is headquartered here! Glad you meet you sir! We see both of them all the time -- B-1's when they come out of depot maintenance or go in. AWACS are headquartered here so we see them all the time along with the Navy E-6 who are also headquartered here since they are on the same platform as AWACS.
We also have a Reserve Tanker Wing that is now activated.
Kind of noisy around here recently -- live 15 miles south of Tinker in Norman and sometimes end up in their flight path!
