Since the B-2s left Whiteman for an undisclosed location (the location at Diego Garcia that the press showed the bunkers being built for them a month ago), would believe the time is getting shorter!
The Fox reporter was having trouble keeping a straight face when he had to report undisclosed location this week while showing pictures of the bunkers for the B-2 being built at Diego Garcia.
Finally about two hours later he was allowed to disclose the location.

That's a B-2 you jerk!! Is it really?
Why, thank you so much for pointing that out. Very kind of you, I'm sure. How clever of you to notice.

Was the underground command centers at that AB called 'Ellsworth bunker'?
I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if it was.
I know that Offutt here in Nebraska has a pretty cool underground command center, being the new home of U.S. Space Command and all.

Do you remember during the Kosovo fiasco, we used the B-2's from Whiteman? Cannot remember the Brits spokesman name from NATO but he was standing there with Wesley Clark at a press conference when he talked about the B-2 and said that you cannot see them flying through the sky with the naked eye because they are invisible. I figured Clark would correct him that they are almost invisible on radar but he said nothing!
I cracked up laughing.

JUST because we are dropping from 15,000 feet is NO excuse" Minor technical detail: Maybe 35,000 feet, but not 15,000 feet.
These guys had to be used for this mission mostly to get the practice. It helps both the aircrews and the ground crews to drop a few real ones before getting to the main event.
They'll be ready. :)

And the 2,000 lb. bomb is only carried by larger aircraft. I guess you mean larger aircraft than a Cessna because I loaded plenty of 2000 pounders on F-15's.

Fun with the Iraqi's. If I were a UN inspector, I'd stage a chinese firedrill every 50 miles and let them figure it out.

JDAMS are 2000 lb dumb bombs kitted with a GPS guidance system to make them "smart." Could that be adapted to blondes?
To: PhiKapMom
Oh, to expand a bit on that US weapons-->Iraq request, there was a history posted some time ago that indicated about the only weapons the US has sold Iraq since 1980 is 40 helicopters, only about 15 of which have any sizeable military use, and that is as recon birds.

In Kosovo and in Afghanistan the B-2's flew non-stop from Whiteman. The Afghan missions were the longest in USAF history - 30 hours. The pilots took turns sleeping on a lawn chair.

France is our version of the Japanese spy. Blix is just another schmoe who is in denial about German troops in the Rhineland.

That's what I thought too so I found it really strange for this Labour Minister to say they (UK) had.
