What time is it there

One o'clock in the morning. Baghdad time is 11 hours ahead of Pacific Time, 8 hours ahead of Eastern Time.

JDAMS are 2000 lb dumb bombs kitted with a GPS guidance system to make them "smart."

More significant is the fact that B-1's were involved - this is the first time they have been used in the Gulf region (including Desert Storm).

My impression of a JDAM is that it's essentially a modification to an outdated, "dumb" iron bomb.

It makes it in effect "smart" and allows it to be used with a high degree of precision.

I am not a weapons expert, and I don't play on on TV so the super patriots among us will just have to forgive me if I got it wrong.
