PATRIOTS RALLY FOR AMERICA IV ON C-SPAN TODAY, 1:05 P.M. EST, 3/02/03
C-SPAN ^ | Sunday, March 2, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 03/02/2003 5:36:42 AM PST by kristinn

Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.

Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.

Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.

The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.

Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

EAGLES UP !!!

I relayed a story to FTH here where FReepers reached Rush through emails to his brother. Perhaps worth a try.

No thanks... I'm doing just fine, thank you.

Are you just here to pick fights and belittle good people, or are you actually going to surprise us with a dash of substance?

TA,

I do apologize for my off the cuff remarks as to your standing and commitment. I obviously did not do enough research before typing my caustic comments.

I just get really steamed when anyone thrashes the effort of FReepers.

Regards,
Tom Buchanan

Thank you for coming! :) Unless memory fails me, I believe there's going to be a PA Support Our Troops Rally for America soon. Do you know about it? Or should I go surfing to look it up for you, which I'd be happy to do.

JMstein7 says: In case you have not been reading the entire thread, the acerbic attacks on me are over. Actually, no one attacked him personally. When I challened his ideas, he claimed -- well, you can read the thread. ROFL. The short version: he's been neut[ralized].

It only takes One person to make a successful rally. When we all take the responsibility for being that one person, then our rallies will be as well attended as they are successful.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU !

Watched on C-Span today. You all looked so good.

So proud to be a FReeper and given the weather etc. I'm sure you all gave our Military a lift.

Connie's observation re the other side didn't show up due to the weather. LOL Spot on. They're just a bunch of pussies who would wither like slugs under a salt shaker if they ever had to endure one second of what our Military does every day.

Kudos to all of you, and Thank you all!

LOL, IF Free Republic were DC-based, THAT would solve our attendance issue. Let's have *everyone* move to DC. All 90,000 of 'em. Problem solved.

I heard the RNC Chairman Marc Racicot say today that Humility visits us all one day. The only question is whether you will voluntarily take it in small doses, or whether it comes to you in a major infusion.

May we never take ourselves so seriously that we lose sight of how serious is our common goals.

"More like temporary loss of temper."

By a tag line that I put in (which is true by the way) for the sole purpose of baiting you into revealing that.

If you decide to do litigation work, you'll see lawyers doing that to get their way. It works with younger lawyers. You have to learn to anticipate and not respond to it. It's in the category of things not-taught-in-law-school-moot-court-competition. LOL, a *big* category, that.

I never did moot court, by the way. I jumped right into clinical work in law school. Real-world experience is a much better and more reliable teacher. I would recommend it to any law student.

Don't worry. It's only one thread. There will be others and all's well.

My own view is that part of the problem with getting a large turnout in D.C. is that we have a protest or rally each week, sometimes one per day it seems. Combined with the fact we're innundated with political advocacy ads on radio and television 24/7, the locals have tuned out and as you know, it's very difficult for families to load the diaper bag up in the mini-van and head to Washington, D.C. in the middle of the snowiest winter in our lifetime. Families with older children have Pinewood Derbies, basketball games and Girl Scout cookies to deliver; baseball and lacrosse practices starting up. University students who care about their grades have mid-terms next week.

The anxiety level has been high with the Orange Alert and companies having corporate meetings about the new "Shelter-in-Place" plans. People value their weekend down time to recover from the pace dictated by living here.

Without the benefit of a local radio host willing to really bang the drum and rally the troops as apparently happens in other cities or until we get a break in the weather, I don't see us ever having very large numbers here in D.C. I could be wrong, of course, and in the meantime, those who can will stand in the gap and be the coalition of the willing and offer a microphone to the Americans the mainstream media doesn't scurry after. Would I rather have Washington, D.C. pictures look like Seoul, South Korea? Of course. But the fact that they don't will not keep us home.

Chicagolady, 1. it's 8 a.m., not 7 a.m., for EST, I'm pretty sure and 2. LOL, all proposed copyright violation conspiracies should be crafted in private Freepmail, don't ya think?

I have a better idea. What say that I, for you who came all the way from Chicago, buy the tape for you with one caveat: when you're done with it, please mail it back to me, so that I may let it finally rest in the hands of the esteemed Mr. Azziz. Or you could mail it to him directly.
