C-SPAN ^ | Sunday, March 2, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 03/02/2003 5:36:42 AM PST by kristinn

Shiver along with the D.C. Chapter, FReepers from across the country, other patriotic Americans and Iraqi exiles as C-SPAN broadcasts the Patriots Rally For America IV today at 1:05 p.m.

Recorded yesterday at the cold, fog-shrouded, snow-covered grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally held to support our troops, President Bush and the American policy on Iraq features former Rep. Bob Dornan, Aziz Al-Taee, Blanquita Cullum, John Armor, James Parmelee, Kevin Martin, Adam Ramey and yours truly.

Also featured are singers Cullen Martin, Stephanie Souders and, from Nashville, Lowell Shyette.

The program, if shown in it's entirety, should run three hours and fifteen minutes.

Get some hot chocolate ready, pop some popcorn, put on your red, white and blue sweaters and get ready to root for the home team: the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

EAGLES UP !!!

A Rush Limbaugh event that was important would be a site to behold. I think we need to save that for the final act in the "WORST CASE Hillary Scenario" (you know tate one that you wake up at night in a cold sweat thinking about).

Thanks to all of you wonderful friends of freedom. I see there are, as always, a very few doggies who cannot pass a fire hydrant without . . . well, but the outpouring of support was heartwarming and very much deserved.

The rallies are growing, in size and number, and will continue to grow as more and more Americans run to be part of the parade.

Thank you all for being the firestarters!

I notice one of the newspapers said Free Republic was based in D.C. LOL!

I believe Glenn Beck broadcasts ourt of Philadelphi.

We had Blanquita Cullum, who is a talk show host on the Radio America network, whcih is conservative. It's also Ollie North's network. We should work with tehm to promote future rallies.

TAdams8591,

Let me revise & amend my comments to you.

It was only after posting my comments in number 410 that I became aware that you were one of the FReepers who shed blood for the cause when you and your brother were assaulted during a Philly protest of Clinton in 1998.

Therefore, I withdraw my request that you plan the next protest. You've done enough (more than most) and I salute you for that.

I wish you all the best & I appreciate that you are on the side of the angels.

You've more than earned the right to criticize, but I must respectfully ask if maybe the tone of your criticique was not helpful?

At any rate, I hope that all the back biting can end. We're all on the same side & I apologize for any grumpiness on my part.

I agree with you. Rush is fun, although not as much fun as he used to be when he did more updates and songs, but he seems more interested in Rush Limbaugh than in the conservative philosophy or movement.

I know his people read this site. I hope they see this, and I hope they're brave enough to get it to him.

Hey, if Rush won't come, how about inviting James Golden -- AKA "Bo Snerdley"?

No, just moved on to something else, that's all.

Seriously, try to meet & Freep with some Freepers from your "Mid Town Manhattan" (?) location. You may make some friends for life!

Columbia? Fordham? (no, that's Bronx), St. John's (with Stein - probably not :)

BTW, you did OK for a snot-nosed, wet behind the ears, young whippersnapper, mind full of mush, soon to be (ick) another lawyer (like the world needs another one although a case can be made for another conservative one) :)

Maybe we need to compile a directory of conservative talk show hosts. All of you from around the country could help with that project.

I'm willing to put in some time on that.

"OK, what are the "banned" stickers and why was Grove Nordquisling upset?"

;-) Sorry, the only valid questions are:

1]"What are the banned stickers"

2] "Where can I buy them?"

3] "Can I buy them in bulk?"

For the answers, see www.0cents.com if you are Seeking the truth about the stickers?

Do you know about WGOP 700? The station is some local, some syndication, and conservative (or at lesat Republican --not always the same thing.) Unfortunately, it's only a daytimer because the FCC is protecting the heritage blowtorch WLW Cincinnati, but still, it's another place we should reach.

Why don't you plan one BIG successful rally to be held in D.C., with thousands of people in attendance, instead of a bunch of small, piddly ones??

Ah, you must be one of those keyboard warriors. When was the last time you were in the streets standing up for anything of principle? Are you afraid to show up anywhere? Or perhaps you are just timid, waiting for someone to do the work and then you will show up, to take some of the credit. Perhaps you fit into this category: In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man and brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. -Mark Twain

What did you do to make this or any other rally a success? Is it your lot in life to be nothing more than a whiner? Sorry Mr. TAdams8591, until you get out and stick your neck out sometime and take a chance and spend your valuable time and money to make something happen, just shut up!

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom... go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor arms. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams; 1776

I watched the rally on CSPAN earlier today. I admit that the attendance was disappointing, but that does not take anything away from the efforts of kristinn, Angelwood and the rest of the DC Chapter. They did a remarkable job of putting this rally on and even getting it on CSPAN where who knows how many other people across the country got to see it and perhaps will be inspired to host their own rallies.

Every week in Colorado a small band of dedicated people show up in four different cities to stand against the leftists. For the past 10 months mostly the same handful of people gather sometimes traveling from city to city to show that there is another side to the Iraqi situation. We grow by taking a stand and showing up. If eveyone was content as you to sit at their keyboard and do nothing but criticize nothing would get done.

So Mr. TAdams8591, here is my challenge to you. Start your own FReep in where ever you are. I see that you do not claim a location on your profile page. Are you embarrassed that you live close enough to DC to have attended the rally and chose to stay warm and comfortable instead of joining the FReepers?

Yes, stand in the street and file a report about your FReep. Until I see some evidence of you in public standing up for some principle that you believe in, you will be nothing more than an irrelevent little person whose opinion and criticism hold no weight and you are doing nothing than wasting band width.

You could of course do the same. If you could even muster up a 'piddly' one.
