In dual articles in the December issue of Vanity Fair magazine and the December 9, 2002 edition of the London Evening Standard, investigative journalist David Rose discloses that CIA files actually contain information on 100 separate meetings between Iraqi officials and Al Qaida operatives dating all the way back to 1992, before anyone in the West even heard of Al Qaida. This includes two meetings between three of the 9-11 hijackers and officers of Iraqi intelligence in the United Arab Emirates and Prague, Czechoslovakia.

But if George Bush wants to give us freedom then we will welcome it." – Iraqui soldier Feb 2003

GUIDELINES FOR PROTESTS, RALLYS AND MARCHES:

Laws governing protests, rallys and marches may vary by locale. Spontaneous street corner demonstrations generally do not require a permit. However, prior contact with your local law enforcement agency is the best source of information.

If you contact law enforcement, let them know your plans. Give them the name of a contact person who will be in attendance at the event, along with a cell phone number, if possible.

Obey the laws and ordinances of the jurisdiction. Treat law enforcement officials and officers with respect.

Remain on sidewalks or in designated areas. Comply if requested by law enforcement to move. Don't block sidewalks to pedestrians.

Signs cannot protrude into streets. Signs should not contain profanity or racist slogans. They should be in good taste. The use of humor as opposed to anger is more effective.

Be a credit to your group. Be friendly and informative to onlookers and members of the media who may be present.

Wear appropriate dress for the event.

Respect the First Amendment rights of others. If there are counter-demonstrators, keep a distance of at least 20 feet between your group and theirs. Avoid confrontations and escalation of arguments. Never engage them with obscene gestures or profanities. Don't interfere with media coverage of counter-demonstrators.

If media is present, be respectful. If you are asked for statements, stay on topic and be concise and calm. It's helpful for your group to prepare copies of a press release in advance for distribution to media covering the event.

Bring along cell phones, audio and visual recording equipment if possible. It may prove to be helpful and sometimes necessary.

Be respectful of public property. When the protest or rally is over, make sure your area is free of trash and activity items. FReepers clean up after themselves!

If possible, adjourn to a local refreshment establishment when the activity is concluded. Discuss and analyze the event. It's a good way to be more effective in future events. It provides an opportunity for your group's participants to become better acquainted and exchange ideas. It's also great fun in the afterglow of a successful event!

Remember, your mission is to promote conservative causes within the rule of law, and to utilize the rights and freedoms accorded to us under the U.S. Constitution.

This goes in the "giving credit where credit is due" department:

Actually, FTH, it was the College Republicans' protest with some DC Chapter members in attendance. They did all the work, getting the permit, sending out announcements, making their own signs, etc; and a great job they did! It did my heart good to see so many cheerful young faces out on the street. I look forward to meeting up with these guys and gals at future events in DC.

Yup, sorry, mea culpa. I was just saying that if he wanted to Freep the French, through us he could have found the students.

It was definitely the students doing the organizing, God Bless them. I was just typing/thinking too fast.

GUish -- I think I like your sign best!

You shouldn't ask for thanks from the Muslims, we should be ashamed of helping the Muslims in Bosnia and Kosovo. Both of those actions will someday come back to haunt us.
