I have no access to who has donated and who has not. Anyway filtering isn't ready yet. I saw a thread a few months ago where John said he was going to try to implement filters and once that is set up, you will be able to filter me out.

environmentalism is a political ideology based on science

More accurately, "Environmentalism is a political ideology that inaccurately claims legitimacy by appealing to science."

"As Ronald Bailey pointed out in 2002's Global Warming and other Eco-Myths, environmentalism is a political ideology based on science -- the accepted way we judge what is the objective truth."

Bailey is wrong here. "Environmentalism" is a political ideology MASQUERADING as science. It uses "scientific-sounding language" not based in real facts to mislead the non-scientific public.

They are absolutely right about "scifi" american. What was once a great science magazine was transformed over the course of a few months into a pile of drivel focused on promoting environmentalism, bashing conservatives, and denigrating religion.

These folks seem to be purposefully infiltrating science publications. I noticed that Astronomy just hired THREE english majors onto the staff, one to be editor-in-chief! Seems awfully dubious to me, considering the abysmal level of mathematical and scientific curiosity most, though not all, english majors display.

As a former liberal environmentalist until getting involved in asbestos abatement, I read Lomborg's book from cover to cover. I had also read Julian Simon's book which inspired Lomborg. All this publicity will only cause more people to read Skeptical Environmentalist.
Bjorn, if you see this...keep up the good work...

At a professional course for asbestos abatement, a comment by one of the instructors at coffee break started me to search for other "junkscience". He said that we were spending billions to protect smokers from asbestos, arguing that the cilia in broncial tubes kept out most fibers, while a cigarette stopped the cilia protective particle expelling movements for hours.

The same thing happened with radon... Most data was based on uranium miners most of whom smoked... Dr. Bernard Cohen of Univ of Pittsburgh did a large study that found that the counties in U.S. with highest radon levels had the lowest lung canger rate. But as an architect I still have to have radon tests for new federal work.

<< environmentalism is a political ideology based on science >>

Wrong.

"Environmentalism" is Pantheism posing as "science."

And posing as whatever else those who lust after power and are willing to go to any length to achieve it are able to disguise it as. And as whatever the various other opportunists, fellow-travellers and useful idiots who trail in the power-lusters' slime will, if it will advance their own agendas, disguise it as.

Worse:- Pantheism/"environmentalism" is being promulgated and promoted by the useful idiots who comprise the feral state -- and has been insidiously adapted as and is as-insidiously promoted as the official religion of every once-Civilized western state.

Including our own.

Too bad, given that 'the power lust is a noxious weed that flourishes in the vacant lots of empty minds,' that environmentalism didn't spray its own vacant lotts!
