CNN just broke in and said that the GOP will not wait to find out the SCONJ decision.
They will bring a petition to Federal Court (eventual destination SCOTUS) on the Voting Rights Act with regard to the 1,800 already mailed absentee ballots in NJ.

I don't like speed limits either. And, there are some people I know who would be better off assaulted. This is GREAT! The Dems have invented self government!

It's foolish to appeal to the USSC, and I wish the GOP would not do it.

You called it. That is the end game here..

When the NJ supremes work out a way to let the soldiers have the right to vote, they will look like they reacted to GOP initiative. This could well be a brilliant legal/political move. FReegards....

"Even if the SCOTUS steps in and overturns the NJSC decision, the Torch could resign within 30 days of the election, and the Rats would appoint someone until the next general election, as per NJ law. "
Sure, but then you have an obvious federal constitution issue. They cannot extend a term beyond 6 years. The federal courts would be all over that.

I think this is a mistake. I think the Pubbies should stay out out of it. Call me nuts, but I think the voters are prepared to deal with this on their ownThen we have no one looking out for the rule of law.
It would be nice if the general populace were educated enough to understand what the RATS are doing, I'm too cynical though to think that is the case.

Does anyone know the final headcount on the SCONJ decision?
To: Nick Danger
I agree--but there may be enough people who were gonna' stay home rather than vote for a crook like Toricelli, who will now come out and vote for 'the other guy' just 'cause he's a Dem...probably could get a closer race, at least close enough to cover with a little "voter fraud"

I just heard on the radio the NJSC ruled the Democrats can replace the name on the ballot.
If I were a cursing person I would.

It sounds like the 'Rats goal here is to tie this thing up in SCOTUS for as long as possible..

The denial of the sanctity of absentee military votes should weigh heavy in any republic. The rise of military dictatorships can be, at times, historically traced to the civilian not recognizing the military its rightful inclusion in the society. The Democrats should tread lightly on how they treat the US Military vote at election time.

NJ is lost to RATs. That's not our fault, that's just how it is.
There was a brief, shining chance to pick up a RAT seat because the candidate was such a big crook. Now that chance is gone. The RAT court, the RAT governor, the RAT Lautenberg are all in cahoots to break the law.
That's what RATs do. If the people of NJ were wise, they wouldn't want to be represented by RATs-but they aren't, and they do.
Instead of wasting time and money plowing in a rocky field, worry about why Montana, North and South Dakota, Missouri, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and West Virginia-Bush bastions all-send FOURTEEN RAT SENATORS to Washington.
Do you know how many GOP Senators there are from states where Gore got >54% of the vote? TWO, that's how many.
Going to court to stop the morons in NJ from getting the RAT they so obviously want is a waste of time and money, and will be twisted to work against GOP candidates who have a chance to win.
The GOP can go to court over matters like this AFTER we are rid of Edwards, Hollings, Cleland, Miller, Landrieu, Carnahan, Rockefeller, Byrd, Baucus, Daschle, Johnson, Dorgan and the other nameless commie from ND.
You've gotta fish where the fish are. NJ is a stagnant pool. Give it up.

I heard that some of the military ballots have been returned already as well..

"Even if the SCOTUS steps in and overturns the NJSC decision, the Torch could resign within 30 days of the election, and the Rats would appoint someone until the next general election, as per NJ law." The only flaw in yer thinking is that the next general election is THIS November.

Time to go to the wine cellar and break out a bootle or two..this could take ahwile!
To: Nick Danger
Nick, I don't think you're nuts. I agree completely. If we take to the courts too quickly, it will allow the demonrats to go on the offensive. And of course the press will help them spin it.
Right now in NJ, without our help, they keep shooting themselves in the foot. I'd like to let it play out a little longer, too.
To: Nick Danger
I disagree with you. For heavens sake we can't let a law like that stand. It will be used as a precedent any time a RAT wants to pull this again.
To: willgetsome
According to Eric Shawn on FNC, the NJSC decision basically says that they're doing this to preserve the two-party system - so both parties have a candidate.
Where in the law, where in the Constitution, does it say we have to have a two-party system? And where does it say that one of those parties has to be the Democrat Party?
The reason we have two main parties is because of the way we elect our representatives, not because its written anywhere.
And what about all the races that go uncontested in this country?
These idiot judges really reached. I guess I shouldn't be surprised......
