Vanity Opinion: Free Republic to Maintain Present Course - Call for More Turns on the Screws.
Patriots and Politics ^ | September 6, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 09/06/2002 4:36:11 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just in case there is any lingering doubt, my intention for Free Republic is to maintain the present course. The course charted is, IMHO, the direct line to freedom.

Our mission, as stated on our front page and elsewhere is, "...to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America."

And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

The people who are killing freedom in our country just as they are all around the world are the leftists or marxists. The leftists/marxists dominate the communist parties, the socialist parties and the American Democrat Party.

The leftist/marxist infested Democrat Party has controlled all or most of our government for what? Sixty, seventy, eighty years or more of the last hundred?

The populists, progressives, socialists, marxists, leftists, liberals, Democrats, or whatever label you place on them are the people responsible for the slave tax, aka, the income tax, the "New Deal," the Ponzi social security scheme, the "Great Society," the socialist medicare nightmare, the welfare state, environmentalnazism, feminazism, high taxes, high spending, weakening and demoralizing our military, etc., etc.

They're also responsible for abridging/restricting/curtailing many of our constitutionally guaranteed rights, such as the right to keep and bear arms, the right to freely practice our religions, the right to freedom of association, while at the same time inventing a whole new class of extra constitutional leftist "rights" such as the "right to choose," i.e., legalized abortion, "gay rights," the "separation of church and state," etc.

In addition, they are responsible for "socializing," i.e., implementing government forced and taxpayer funded education, health care, insurance and retirement programs.

They've completely taken over our our education systems where they indoctrinate our youth with their immoral and Godless socialist dogma. They've dummied-down, demoralized and destroyed our society and our traditional family units and value systems.

After all this, to me, they are the party mostly to blame for the erosion of our Constitution, the destruction of our society, the loss of our national sovereignty, the loss of our states rights, and the wholesale corruption of our government.

Thus, as I see it, the best course of action to right these wrongs is to continue removing the liberals, socialists and leftists from our government as fast as we can. Eliminating the liberal influence automatically raises the level of conservatism in our government and its institutions.

We eliminate them by replacing them with non Democrats. This means, for the most part, supporting and voting for the Republican candidate in each race whether it be federal, state or local.

The Libertarians, Reformers, and other third parties know they cannot win national races. They do a great job writing, debating, and fighting for our constitutional rights, but they are not effective enough to win races. God bless them, they do not have and never will have the numbers necessary to win.

I fully support President Bush and the war on terrorism. We either fight this war now, and fight it over there and on our terms, or we can wait and fight it here on our soil. I never want to see a repeat of 9/11!

I never again want to see American blood running down our streets. The primary function of the federal government is to defend our borders, and, in this fight, that is exactly what we are doing.

I urge all conservatives and freedom loving Americans to go to the polls in November and give the President and the Congress a mandate to swing America away from the left. The pendulum has been way off to the left for way too many years. It's time to swing it our way for a change. It's time to crank a few more turns to the screws.

Start a thread, then book for parts unknown. If you care to wonder why the better half isn't here, that's it.

It wasn't to parts unknown. Jim and his family are on the street corner every Friday night, rain, sleet, hail, and 115 degrees showing support for our troops, and countering the Anti war nuts across the street.
If what you mean is, he isn't watching this ship, then that is certainly not true. He is out there practicing what he preaches. Perhaps you can tell your wife that. I hope she decides to return, and I think she will btw.

Bravo! I agree with your post 100% We certainly cannot be foolish enough to think we will ever agree with each and every act of ANY President. But at least I can say I agree with more of Bush's than most lately!

Holy cripe! I forgot that it's Friday!

Opps, I guess that means you can now ignore my post to you # 80 million something! Except of course, for the part hoping your wife will return. As someone else has wisely stated, "good grief, it's just a web site!" :)

I'm sticking with the GOP for reasons of defense and foreign policy, and as a vote against the RATs.

It's not an endorsement for all of the domestic policies.

On that score-- looks like I'll have to roll over one more time.

Not knowing much about the inner workings of the FR social organization (for which I'm probably grateful), I can't really comment on the specifics of the various internecine machinations I've observed going on here over the past few weeks. But the phenomena do look familar.

I'm not so sure that the underlying reasons for the dissension are what they appear to be... It really looks to me like there is a sociological phenomenon at work here that I have observed in many political, religious, and social organizations. Once an organization reaches a certain size and level of influence and success, there seems to be an innate tendency toward schism, solely due to individuals and groups of individuals developing jealousies or wanting control or influence which they somehow think they deserve.

I think the phenomenon is akin to what happens in tribal societies when a tribe reaches a certain size - you get bands of members splitting off to form their own groups. The point, again, is that the reasons for the dissension and or schismatic behavior are not whatever grievances or personalities are proffered as explanations; rather, they are rooted in a sociological phenomenon which is fundamental to human tribal societies (which is what FR really appears to me to be), and even the protagonists may not be aware of their real motivations.

What worries me is that if my hypothesis is correct, first of all, any concern over the specific issues being raised is probably misdirected, and second, the means of remedying the problem probably do not consist in addressing the grievances. I wish I had specific recommendations to make, but I am not an organizational management specialist, nor an anthropologist or a sociologist, or a psychologist, or a political scientist. But again, if I am correct, it is probably worth seeking recommendations from experts in the latter fields, rather than reacting in any particular manner to the specific issues being raised.

Off to bed with me... BIG gun show tomorrow after a long dry spell...

This is all fine and dandy,as is the advise to elect conservatives. However, how is either related to voting for statists airheads like Giddy Dolt? She had been endorsed by both the RNC and the White House, and if Giddy is a consrvative,I'm the next Pope. I will NOT vote for her, regardless of who her opponet is. If this means the Reps don't regain control of the Senate,so be it. It's not MY fault,it's theirs. They COULD have backed either of the conservative men who wanted that seat, but chose to back Giddy, instead. They did this for the same reason these losers backed Bob Dolt. He and she are insiders who can be trusted to not upset anybody's apple cart.

Yours is the correct action. Reward RINO-ization, and it will occur more and more.

That goes for every facet of life, including internet forums.

What if the leftist or Marxist wears the Republican label? People like John McCain, for example. Do we still have to vote for them too?

The problem is, the voters don't want that. I wanna move near all these Freepers who claim that everyone wants a low-cost conservative government - and I also want to know what color is the sky in their reality.

Most GOP and independent voters will claim they are in favor of limited government. Move to curtail their pet programs, however, and they will squeal like stuck pigs. We'll get limited government once people are willing to forego governmental goodies, such as a Medicare drug benefit for the wealthiest segment of the population...

You have made very good points and change would be helpful.

The only subject upon which I will take exception is your claim that Social Security is not in the constitution. Serving and protecting our citizens is what we are all about. If the people want it they will get it under most circumstances.

The constitution is to protect the rights and obligations of the citizenry with policy and procedural systems

The Constitution is not an operating plan.

Hear! Hear!

My two cents regarding getting a third party candidate elected in the near future:

I am not nor have been a 'member' of any political party. I'm not much of a joiner of groups in general. What I learned in this last presidential election was a eye opener.

I merely crunched the number. The % of votes actually cast "out there". Not how many folks of voting age 'could' vote, but the number of folks who 'do' vote. Then I looked at the % of those who were registered one way or the other between the D and R parties. There were note enough votes left over to get a candidate elected, it was that simple to me. That simple number crunching is what makes me read your post and agree 100%. For now there just aren't enough active voters to swing any third party candidate. Bless em they are trying and I love it. Until there is enough of an awakening in America I am afraid there won't be. Who knows maybe in time...maybe in time. In the mean time I will continue to back up with my research capabilities the works of getting our great country back on the Constitutional rails.

Blow the whistle Casey cause we're coming down the track!!

"The Constitution is not an operating plan."

Not true. Everything prior to the Bill of Rights concerns precisely what you say it's not: operational instructions.

You're clearly not happy here. Why don't you stay and obsess at Liberty Post? Why don't you make it even one-tenth the success that FR is?

Because you can't. All that "freedom" and the anti-FReeper mono-minded dopey denizens are miserable. They get weary of one another. You can read ennui and sighs between the dust-laden lines in their infrequent posts. That's understandable. After all, how many times can you sloganeer the same pro-dope pap with other shallow-minded self-obsessed prop-dopers before you start anticipating and mouthing the response before it's made?

"Oooo! Oooo!" you squeal, shattering the insufferable monotony of life at an anti-FReeper site. "I'll go over to FR and tell the owner how much his site sucks and what a failure he is!"

It's not MY fault

It will partially be if that happens, yes.

"The new conservative Republican senator from North Carolina, Elizabeth Dole." ---Sen. Jesse Helms (R-NC).

But of course, we all know what a RINO ol' Jesse is, don't we?

You want the same result as the Faircloth/Edwards race. I'd prefer that not happen. I don't know why some of you people are so bent on losing over and over again. You might as well be consultants to the DNC--it has the same affect.
