Which State is the Armpit of America?
Arthur Wildfire! March

Posted on 08/07/2002 4:23:30 PM PDT by Arthur Wildfire! March

Ok fellow freepers. The aristocracy had fun deciding which 'hick town' was the armpit of America. Naturally it had to be rural and conservative. A tad redneck.

They were way off the mark. I would have picked New York prior to 9-11. I mean, good grief. Hellery's husband pardoned bomb terrorists to get her elected, the scandal is exposed to every New Yorker and they elected her anyway? She was silent on the issue for at least a week. But well, perhaps NY had been reborn in blood. So, I'm tempted to give them a pass.

Arkansas? Could that be the armpit of America? The home of NationsBank, Tyson Chicken, Walmart, Web Hubbell, and the Big Creep himself?

Then there is the delightful state of New Jersy, which is batting a thousand at elected scandal-swamped senators. Not only the Torch, but also Corzine.

Some might choose South Dakota. Not only do they keep re-electing Timber Tom [also called Rushmore Daschle], but they also go three days without brushing their teeth. So many choices....

Hands down-New Jersey

Did you know that a cobblestone street was stolen in New Jersey in the late 1970's while the police were actually directing traffic?

Thieves were digging up the stones with a front loader and the Newark cops came by, noticed them and couldn't figure out why one of their off duty brethren wasn't picking up some overtime, so the officers signed out, directed traffic and put in for overtime themselves.

The paper I was reading did not say if the officers got paid the overtime.

How did it come about that homosexuals began flocking to San Francisco? Did it begin in the 60s with all the hippies?

It was because of the wind. In San Francisco it blows and sucks.

Visiting there is like seeing an automobile accident involving a beautiful woman. Damn what a shame!

Your in Connecticut? LOL! We will remember you in a few months, as your pulling icicles off your face, and sliding to work in dirty snow...While I am taking a swim in my cement pond and barbequing in January...Hehehe...

I couldn't resist.....

Hey remember when Knott Berry Farm was still a farm with a pie stand & chickens on a Beach Blvd that was a 1 lane each way asphalt strip with a dirt shoulder?

Yes, I do remember that! Now Beach Blvd should be named Hooker Road or Motel Way.

They were too ashamed to call it a state so they named it "DC"

Lot's of great conservatives, mostly FReepers, in L.A. if you stop whinning get off your a$$ and get active!

Who's whining? I don't go to barbeques and shoot-outs because I've got a job and family that take all my time, but I belong to the NRA, the Republican Party, and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association too. I give money to Free Republic, the Boy Scouts, and the Salvation Army. I write letters to the editor. I've infiltrated my local Neighborhood Council. I know who the enemy is and I understand the political realities in California. What about my statement "Run by liberal Democrats, for liberal Democrats" is incorrect?

I noted that you neglected, or forgot to fly your state flag in your profile. Where might your state be my friend?

I have neglected my profile, but I live in the Golden State, California, the soon-to-be-independent San Fernando Valley in particular. The dominance of a one-party leftist tyranny here infuriates me, but it is the reality.

I richly remember "Knott's Berry Farm & Ghost Town". It was a farm that produced some of the world's best preserves. When you visited, you could tour authentic Old West buildings that had been moved in from ghost towns out in the Mojave, filled with old tools and furniture. Now it's just another death ride amusement park for gangbangers.

Well then you understand as well as I, that all of California isn't LA and SF. Some counties in this state are very conservative. And once you leave the coastal areas of California, most of the folks stand pretty far to the right. It's unfortunate, that many out of state folks sit around and watch hollywood sitcoms and follow all that hollywood bull $hit.

It's funny, ourselves and most of our friends don't watch these sitcoms or other hollywood BS, we don't go to the rose parada, Disneyland, game show filmings etc etc, yet these venues are filled with people from Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Alabama, Utah, and all over the country.....

We have friends in the high desert of California that we know are to the right of most of this entire country, and they barbeque with most of the cops in the county and don't take a lot of crap from outsiders or the AH communist in Sacramento.

There are lots of very rural areas of California, and most of the people out there are not big city socialist screw worms....Just the opposite. I could go into details about how hard core some these folks are, but I wont/can't. Trust me.....

Most of the folks that think we here in California are all a bunch of plastic, socialist, that all live in Hollywood and SF, think like tourist. It aint the way it is.
