BREAKING ON TV!!
Only when avoiding enemy defenses, and then mostly missle defenses. I doubt they used the terrain following at all against the Taliwackers. They certainly wouldn't be using it over the ocean, unless approaching a hostile coast. You burn alot more fuel at low altitude. In this case they were only 30 miles or so out from Diego Garcia, don't yet know if coming or going.
Let me see, oh yeah, you are saying you live in an evironment where icicles could be considered a threat to your life.
Probably somewhere North of the Equator I would guess!
It has ejection seats, four. If they are carrying an extra crewman or two, for which they have "jump" seats, those have no ejection seats. In this case four ejection seats, four crew, all safe. Thanks to the seat manufacturer.
Not such much point in staying with the A/C over water and relatively close to base. They may have stayed for awhile, but in end they punched and thankfully all are OK.
Which is a definite improvement over the "old days" when they were an artillery shell. Lots less back problems after ejection these days. Rockets give a very firm shove, but the old ones were more like getting hit in the a$$ with a sledge hammer, wielded by Paul Bunyun or the Jolly Green Giant.
I believe the Federal Highway Administration rejects that figure as being an acceptable number of deaths and are working toward reducing that carnage.
How? I would guess since most drivers are not trained beyond their experience so the improvement would have to come in a manner that would be beyond the control of the individual driver.
Life saving technolog; ie, much like the airbag, the seat belt, these two ancient lifesavers, recent as they are, are not enough so we press on to other technologies that will force us to live a little longer or die by "an icicle falling on our head".
Or something less violent.(A modicum of jocularity there, See Reply #99)
Evidently my WWII service whatever it was, wasn't impressive enough to keep me from getting called down.
Thanks for your insightful post anyway!!(I mean that.)
you are wrong, or rather slightly mistaken.
As a general rule the protocols do in fact govern the execution of policy related to international conspiracies however sanction by THE INNER CIRCLE is the essential mandate necessary for implementation.
Whoops!! You guessed wrong Jerry_M!!
Try again!
The Navy did away with sails on their ships a couple of years before I enlisted and our propulsion system was a little more complicated than oars too.
Thanks for your reply #75.
It all started with a post by VOYAGER, post #57. I responded with post #80. Just so ya know the history.
I just rec'd this response back from you VOYAGER:
"Evidently my WWII service whatever it was, wasn't impressive enough to keep me from getting called down.

TO ALL...I really want to address this to some of my friends who I KNOW care deeply for Vets and publicly if you will allow me. But especially to VOYAGER.
((((((VOYAGER))))) (Thats a cyber hug, best I can offer under these circumstances).
I just want you to know that I realize that your post #57 was based on emotion and love for our troops. That you of all people care deeply for our servicemen and women. Maybe even more because of what you saw first hand. Over 240,000 people (forgive me for being incorrect on the exact number,.. but I know it was over that amount) died during WWII. I cannot imagine what you saw first hand. I cannot THANK YOU ENOUGH for your service.
It is so important to me, that you know that.
I just want you to know, that not all people read your biography before responding. Maybe if they had, they too would have understood a little better where you were coming from. From caring deeply and ***firsthand*** for our troops!!!
I just want you to know, that I never doubted your intentions. I knew it was because you love them, that you wrote a reply. I also need to remind all that we cannot see facial expressions, or hear tone inflections when reading a post. If we could..there would be far fewer misperceptions here.
But dog gone it VOYAGER... you weren't called down!!! NO WAY!!! People like me even,..just reacted emotionally too. Your a hero.. your a "beloved" vet here.
I want you to know Vet to Vet.. that I honor you, and SALUTE you.
God Bless, and PLEASE know how much we appreciate our WWII Vets.

If we don't appreciate ALL vets, we might not have anyone to volunteer to be a vet in the future!
Met a Red Star photographer who travelled all the way from Stalingrad to Berlin with Zokov. Just an ordinary grunt with a rifle and a camera, but a very well revered man in the Ukraine.
Agreed. But my post was because a fellow Vet felt he got slammed down. I wanted to assure him how much we appreciated him. Your point is extremely valid and well taken. I just needed for us to validate our appreciation to VOYAGER. I think he was feeling attacked. Just want to qaulify my post about VOYAGER... I always support our troops :o) ALL OF THEM. But I sure don't want EVEN ONE to think we don't!!
Bless your Ukraine friend!! FRegards!!
I only called Hugh Hewitt one time.I want to call again but this week is impossible for me.
RonDog might know better since he is the one that helped me know how to call that one time. I LOVED your call to Hewitt.Fantastic!!!!!
(((( HUG ))))
To have one of the ships you sent to is so fantastic.
