Minnesota National Guard Disputes Walz’s Military Biography, Confirms He Didn’t Retire As Command Sergeant Major
Daily Wire ^ | 8/8/2024 (Today) | Ashe Schow

The Minnesota National Guard has disputed Gov. Tim Walz’s claims about his military service, saying he did not retire as a command sergeant major as he has said.

In a statement to Just The News, a spokesperson for the Minnesota National Guard confirmed that Walz retired as a master sergeant “in 2005 for benefit purposes because he did not complete additional coursework at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.”

Walz claimed he retired from the National Guard as a command sergeant major; the claim even appears in his official biography on the Minnesota government’s website (archived here). Yet other veterans have called out Walz’s story, saying he “embellished and selectively omitted facts” about his military career. Walz retired shortly after his unit was told it could be deployed to Iraq, but he didn’t adhere to his agreements as part of joining the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.

One of the stipulations for joining was that he served a specific time after his conditional promotion to command sergeant major, which Walz failed to do, thus resulting in him reverting to his lower rank of master sergeant. More at link .....

I smell a swap-out coming. In 1972, George McGovern picked a VP running mate who subsequently became embroiled in a huge scandal, that had been hidden for years by a compliant propaganda network (once known as "news media"). The VP pick was swapped out in September, but the damage had been done. By the time the election happened, George McGovern lost in a colossal landslide.

Here's hoping the same thing happens to Kamala the Hooker & Walz the Deserter this year. It would be such perfect poetic justice. (Maybe she'll pick Shapiro this time .... Naaaah, that makes too much sense & it'll P!$$ off the pro-Hamas base.)

I read somewhere that Walzing Kamala’s White Dude has found an army butt butty who claims the National Guard and all the liars in the unit are lying. Another Kerry Style “Reporting for Doody” Tater Swift Boater.

CNN is now lying that when Walz said he carried a weapon in war, he must have meant he was training to carry a weapon in war.

I can see their latest spin now.... Walz was TRAINING to retire as a Command Sergeant Major.

Yeah. Of course.

I seem to recall one Dem VP choice being the 7th after the 6th was found to have spent time in a mental institution. Fairly sure it was after McGovern.

I almost feel sorry for Kamala. She had to pick some loser. Any loser.

Any loser who wasn’t willing to commit career suicide by being her running mate.

And they called Vance “weird”.

I knew a Senior Chief (E-8) who was selected for Master Chief E-9) at 19 years. He retired a year later, as he had a very high paying job lined up. He did petition the CNO to retire as a Master Chief, but his request was declined, as is standard practice. He was permitted to wear his MCPO uniform until he retired, but all his documents, including his retiree ID, say SCPO, not MCPO. Everyone at this level knows how it works.

In Walz’s case, not only did he waste an E-9 advancement slot, he took a seat at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy that should have gone to a soldier who was committed serving the in that role. IMHO, he failed to serve the 2 year obligation, and should have been required to pay back the cost of that training.

Watergate was so stupid and unnecessary.

Gee, I could use the same verbiage to “embellish” my relatively undistinguished military career. As an ADA Platoon Leader, one of my extra duties was to augment a nearby Nike Hercules battery during their Nuclear Surety Inspections.

Our force consisted of 40 soldiers and two towed Vulcans. The usual scenario was terrorists had invaded the weapons storage area; our job was as to get them out.

Live ammunition was issued prior to our departure. However, they were given refresher training in infantry tactics: they were air defenders, not infantrymen. Fortunately, not one weapon was discharged during the six NSIs I was involved in. Our successes were due in large part to that extra training.

LOL, I’m not running for office, and my two major awards for 8 years on active duty are an ARCOM and an MSM, to go with my Parachutist Badge, though I’m considered a “cherry jumper” I.e 5 jumps at Airborne School.

Department of the Army will fix this with an administrative correction to records. Happens all the time if you know the right people. Sergeants Major mafia is pretty powerful.

That is correct, except the 1st was found to have spent time in a mental institution. And then covered it up. His name was Richard Eagleton. I think. Then the 2nd choice rode with McGovern into the landslide. It was epic.

And all that happened IN SPITE OF WATERGATE. The break-in happened during the campaign, but Nixon was able to cover up his involvement until after the election.

But the moron had tape recorded his own conversations about it. And then he didn't destroy the tapes. Other than that, he was the ultimate politican.

A few years later when I was in college, I was the student government's liaison to the Foreign Students' Association. We had a bunch of refugees from Iran, since there was a revolution over there at the time. Hostages at the US Embassy, etc.

We had wide open meetings weher we just talked about all kinds of stuff. One time I threw out a question: "Name the three greatest presidents in US history."

I was expecting Washington, Lincoln & JFK.

The consensus was Washington, Lincoln & Nixon. JFK was in fourth place.

Yes, I predict that is what the media will do.

Turn the Walz story into a "Look how mean republicans are" trope.
