New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James took her first step toward seizing the assets of former President Donald Trump as part of the more than $450 million civil fraud judgment he faces.
James' office filed judgments in Westchester County, which indicates that the state is getting ready to try to seize Seven Springs, Trump's golf course and private estate, CNN reported Thursday.
The judgments were entered with the Westchester County Clerk's Office on March 6, one week after Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay the major fraud fine and well before Trump's deadline to satisfy the judgment.
The filing is the first step a creditor takes to try to recover property. The next steps could be putting liens on assets or trying to force a foreclosure, among other things.

Low IQ woke jihadis like James never look beyond first-order consequences.
I believe that eventually, whatever is stolen from Trump will be returned to him or his heirs, in many multiples. I don't know how it will play out, only that God's mill grinds very slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine.
That's the problem: you can ONLY count on Alito and Thomas to follow the Constitution, as written.....the other "Conservatives" in name only (Barrett, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh) are NOT dependable, whatsoever. Roberts is compromised, and a waste of time...
It does happen to regular Americans every day. Try not paying a court judgement. They don’t just say ok. They don’t even care if you can’t afford it. Pay up or we’ll force you to.
How is any of this legal???
The judge made the ruling bet he takes the property it’s all about the party first.
Letitia James will be shit out of luck.
What makes you think that this marxist takeover is going to stop?
Seizing Trump’s assets will only give Trump the opportunity to appeal the NY verdict to the NY intermediate court of appeals. He could win there, or in whatever NY calls it’s highest court these days.
Trump’s lawyers could always try to file a case in federal court, but the federal courts seldom get involved in state level civil cases until there has been final judgement.
That’s an excellent point I hadn’t thought of, that he may need her to actually initiate the first steps of confiscation before he would have absolute unquestioned standing in Federal Court, that overt act being more powerful than just the judgement itself. And it may not even go that far, if the fine is reduced, so he should keep his powder dry on that for now. Thanks!
The fine was so excessive that it also violated Trump's due process and equal protection rights.

I would think so too, and have been wondering aloud here what he was waiting on. I think the answer is two-fold, first he is waiting to see if the fine is reduced, and then second, if it’s not, does NY actually act on it. If they don’t act on it, then there are no damages, which are typically central to claiming standing.
But I expect James will be very careful about what damages she invokes, anyway, if it gets that far, and will only institute liens, which won’t be immediately acted upon, verses full divestiture. Going full divestiture before the appeal is even heard would be a scorched earth approach, that would likely destroy them in the end in some way too. Or maybe they’re suicide bombers, and don’t really care.
That group WILL NOT take anything regarding TRUMP
BOG MOUTH FOR A GUY WHO HS NO MEMORY
Giving them enough rope?
IF there are already outstanding LOANS on these properties-—Will they hold 1st place against anything she files???
SINCE the battle was OVER his NEW YORK properties-—CAN she legally go after properties elsewhere???
That group WILL NOT take anything regarding TRUMP
Probably would. And I don’t think Trump owns any of these big properties 100% outright, which is why I think it’s more likely NY won’t actually be “seizing” anything immediately. I think they’ll put liens on the property and associated accounts, essentially making themselves part owner as well, but only that at least for now. To do anything more is too messy and has to involve the other invested parties.
She can possibly go after any assesses in any part of the world, but for this I think she starting with NY.
Another good question. From what I heard, the other state has to agree for the cross-state penalties to be enforceable.
If Trump is unable to meet the bond requirement, the NY appellate courts won’t even review his first appeal. He’ll be in significant trouble financially, and have no avenue in the state courts for any hope of appellate relief.
