New York attorney general makes first move to seize Trump's assets

New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James took her first step toward seizing the assets of former President Donald Trump as part of the more than $450 million civil fraud judgment he faces.

James' office filed judgments in Westchester County, which indicates that the state is getting ready to try to seize Seven Springs, Trump's golf course and private estate, CNN reported Thursday.

The judgments were entered with the Westchester County Clerk's Office on March 6, one week after Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay the major fraud fine and well before Trump's deadline to satisfy the judgment.

The filing is the first step a creditor takes to try to recover property. The next steps could be putting liens on assets or trying to force a foreclosure, among other things.

I think the ruling will be reversed and Trump will be able to go after James and recoup anything lost due to the actions of her and Engoron. When they appointed an overseer of his business interests he effectively lost control of his real estate business and lost income, and should be made whole.

Thus far, lower Courts haven’t been quick to stop the corrupt left from going against Trump, but this doesn’t just affect Trump, it affects every business and investment group in NY. Not to mention it is a gross violation of Trump’s 8th Amendment rights.

Here’s what I predict:

1. Trump is waiting on his appeal to lower the amount of fine, before deciding anything. It’s not clear that decision will come before Monday’s suspense but it probably will, one way or another.

2. If that decision lowers his fine, he will put up the bond to cover it. If it doesn’t lower the fine, he won’t do anything, immediately, but stick to his guns that he can’t get a bond to cover it.

3. If he doesn’t pay, James will simply invoke liens on his assets, but nothing else. This is instituting the right to withdraw money, or force sale, but doesn’t actually start the process of either. She will announce she is prepared to do that if the values begin to fall, but will say this is sufficient for now while he pursues the appeal.

Maybe I’m simply hoping that’s all that will happen, but I think it’s most likely because it secures the asset for possible divestiture, but avoids most of the controversy.

Although lawfare is a federal crime based on the 14th Amendment, that amendment protecting a given citizen from abridgment by any state, not just the state where that person resides, I don't think the deep state (imo) Justice Department is going to do anything about this injustice to hopeful Trump 47.

Democratic and Republican patriots in the whole nation need to come to the rescue of citizens being constitutionally abused by any state. Patriots need to start this rescue by IMMEDIATELY primarying worthless incumbent lawmakers up for reelection, replacing them new Trump-supporting patriot federal lawmakers who will not only support hopeful Trump 47 to finish draining the swamp, but will actually do their 14A duty to make sure that federal laws that protect citizens from constitutional rights abuse by any state are enforced.
