Florida's controversial surgeon general is drawing criticism for his handling of an elementary school's measles outbreak... ...Dr. Joseph Ladapo, nationally known for his outspoken skepticism toward the COVID-19 vaccine, sent a letter this week to parents at Manatee Bay Elementary School near Fort Lauderdale after six students contracted...
The letter notes that when a school has a measles outbreak, it is “normally recommended” that unvaccinated students...be kept home for three weeks “because of the high likelihood” they will be infected.
But the letter then says the state won't turn that recommendation into a mandate, at least for now. The Broward County school district said Friday that 33 of Manatee Bay’s 1,067 students don’t have at least one shot of the two-dose measles vaccine...

Local Miami media is sooooo mad that our Harvard educated black surgeon general believes parents should determine whether kids get a vaccine.
I remembered to put a link in this time! 🙂
This is what bothered me with the fake mRNA vaccines, if they worked then you’re good. So if you’re afraid of an illness, then get vaccinated and more on with your life instead of blaming others.
Your body, your choice.
Florida: Land of the free!
If all the others are vaccinated, then to only one who will get the measles are other unvaccinated students.
I had measles and chickenpox in school. Neither was a big deal..................
I’m willing to bet a good sum of money that we won’t be hearing about any “breakthrough” cases of measles in this school among vaccinated students.
“Florida’s controversial surgeon general”
When you see the word “controversial” in the very first sentence you know it’s political hit piece propaganda
When I was a kid, I got Measles and then Chicken Pox all in a row. I was out of school for a month. And I know that I was vaccinated for both back then.
These kids need to ‘man up’ and just live through it like we did. ;)
I’m for Parental Choice when it comes to vaccines though it obviously isn’t 100%, as with all things in Life. ;)
If vaccines work so well, then the vaxx harpies should just take the shot - problem solved.
Like all collectivists, Karens, Marxists etc., they demand forced participation from everyone.
Meanwhile, they leave the borders wide open to diseased trash bring these diseases back.
In the 50’s and 60’s when I was in elementary school parents would have “measles parties”. When one kid would get the measles (in the summer usually) other parents would bring their kids to be exposed. This was usually during the summer. Instant immunity. I also had measles and mumps consecutively.
My brother & I presented with chicken pox the day after our newborn brother came home from the hospital. I believe Newby got a shot of gamma globulin & was fine (he got chicken pox several years later).
The same brother who got chicken pox when I did, also got measles when I did. We both had German & Red measles the same summer. I can remember mom keeping us in a darkened room & ‘bathing’ us in alcohol to get the fever down (common practice then, not done now). Our pediatrician made house calls & stopped by once to check us out. We recovered just fine.
Back in my days of going to school—late 60’s—early 70s—no one was barred from school if there was an outbreak of any typical childhood diseases. I was vaccinated for all the typical ones; measles, mumps, whooping cough, and smallpox. This was standard and normal. Nobody then was anti-vaccine.
When I went in the military in 1976, I got every shot they had.
When I was 6 or 7 Mother took me to a "measles party" so I would catch it. (I didn't know it at the time - she told me years later.) That was pretty much SOP in 1952. It was done for chickenpox, too. And mumps.
EXACTLY!
It's only controversial when it goes against the demonocrat narrative.
“It’s only controversial when it goes against the demonocrat narrative”
The local left-wing tv news stations where I am calls things and people controversial on a regular basis...9 times out of 10 it’s to demonize something or someone conservative.
Ownership of news sources is good feature.
I’ve noticed the same.
When I was a little girl, the only vaccination was for smallpox.
My Mom said I had the mumps and the chicken pox at the same time.
I remember being sick and cranky while playing with the older boy upstairs who was annoying me, so I hit him with a chair and bloodied his nose.
I think my Dad was secretly proud of me, because that boy was pretty ornery.
Understand that. But the old tried and true vaccines are still being used for all those well-known diseases, no? Why would they change what works? mRna are just Covid? Or?????
