KEY POINTS

The Federal Aviation Administration said Elon Musk's SpaceX must keep its Starship Super Heavy rocket grounded.

The federal agency had been probing the April launch, which saw SpaceX's Starship explode in mid-flight.

The FAA called for SpaceX to take 63 corrective actions before it launches another Starship test flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Friday said Elon Musk's SpaceX must keep its Starship Super Heavy rocket grounded, saying the company needs to take 63 corrective actions before it is cleared for another test flight.

The FAA has now wrapped its probe into the April launch, which saw the rocket explode mid-flight.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had claimed Tuesday, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) which he now owns, that "Starship is ready to launch, awaiting FAA license approval."

Exactly. If this was a “deep state” plot they’d have grounded everything. Falcon hasn’t blown up, so no problem. Starship blew up, fix it.

Yep, I saw the first inkling of this when they didn’t invite
him to the elite Electric Manufacturers of America meeting
they held earlier this year. Imagine that, only inviting
the ICE engine electrical start-ups, and not Musk whose only
automotive job has been to create electric vehicles.

He’s the premier EV manufacturer in the nation for heaven’s
sake. The Left is so freaking clueless, and misguided.

I think Elon and crew will roll up their sleeves and get these 63 items fixed in short order.

Think positive. If anyone can do it, surely them.

NASA will never get ‘caught-up”, as they’re mired in the corrupt, evil Deep State.

NASA never had any failures, nope uh uh. Maybe the FAA should have grounded the Challenger.

Did the FAA approve the versions of SpaceX and MAX that crashed?

Just looking for facts to form my opinion.

In fairness, killed astronauts are part of the learning curve that got us to SpaceX.

Not only was the Rocket explosion on a test flight (not a payload or passenger carrying launch), but it also actually went far higher than they hoped for. The original goal was simply to launch. In fact, they said multiple times that everything after clearing the tower is just icing on the cake.

It had 35 engines, and I think 8 of them did not ignite properly, which they knew about before the rocket was blown up. They got to 30KM altitude and 2105 Km/H, thru the flip for stage separation, but it did not separate, so they blew it up on purpose about 4 minutes into the flight. The plan was that it was going to be blown up somewhere.

Contrast that to the 737-MAX. I am from Seattle, and Boeing put food on the table and a roof over my head from the day I was born ... dad worked there. Love Boeing, but they fudged test data, had a known issue, and put planes in service that you and I might have hopped onto, not knowing that there were conditions which, if met, would have guaranteed our deaths. Nothing to do with "military industrial complex" my friend, it has to do with Boeing put passengers in harm's way, and SpaceX fully broadcast their test and exceeded even their own expectations. Plus NASA is not one to talk about Rocket explosions after they screwed the pooch on Challenger and all the circle-jerk maneuvers they did to make sure nothing stopped the launch.

Anyway, if you want to see the Falcon Heavy launch in question, here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTlKEDvRC4w

And as a government agency they do not have the imposed discipline of the need to make a profit.

You know perfectly well that they did.

So: Was FAA approval of the first Starship/SuperHeavy launch part of the “deep state” plot to destroy SpaceX? Was the FAA approval of 737-MAX part of some nefarious “deep state” plot? Is the ongoing FAA approval of Falcon-9 part of some nefarious “deep state” plot?

I think you’re looking so hard for “deep state” plots that you’re going to find them even if they don’t exist. I’m reminded of leftists who look so hard for evidence of “right wing racism” that they have to invent it.

And I’m not picking on you personally or specifically. A critical mass of posters on this forum are so primed to find “deep state” nefarious activity that they’ll jump to the conclusion that ANYTHING they don’t like is “deep state” nefarious activity ... even when it isn’t.

Starship/Super Heavy is not the same thing as Falcon Heavy. I watched the Starship/Super Heavy launch live, thank you very much.

Plus NASA is not one to talk about Rocket explosions after they screwed the pooch on Challenger and all the circle-jerk maneuvers they did to make sure nothing stopped the launch.

1) We're talking about the FAA here, not NASA. Get your story straight.

2) NASA's malfeasance with the Challenger launch has nothing to do with FAA's approval (or not) of a Starship/SuperHeavy launch. Your comment is a massive non-sequitur.

This moronic Regime is on the verge of a peer war with Russia, where satellite launch will be critical.

Atlas has a limited number of remaining launches available, and SLS just had another failed test, with further delays.

https://hackaday.com/2021/01/25/failed-test-could-further-delay-nasas-troubled-sls-rocket/

SpaceX would be the only available launch platform, but the Administrative State can’t see beyond the domestic political conflict, and punishing any dissent.

This Regime is too incompetent to live. It will Fall. (and the sooner the better !)

The FAA needs to explain where it was in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s when NASA rockets were blowing up and actually killing people.

This should be the first agency to get canned in 2025.

I seem not to remember passengers on a rocket that blew up. Is it now the new normal for the FAA to force changes on experimental flights on unmanned vehicles? That reeks of prior restraint.

We are well on the way to the fictional world of Ayn Rand here. Shut down oil exploration, no coal, no NG appliances, and no more reaching for the stars.

Hell, we even drained our strategic reserve we filled at $2.50 a gallon, and will have to be refilled, if ever at $6.00 per gallon. When they do that, the price at the pump will further skyrocket. As resources are diverted and with the Dollar now longer accepted as payment for oil, we will be in unrecoverable terror-tory. May as well cede all sovereignty at that point under President Tranny.
