We are supposed to be “Innocent Until Proven Guilty” According to our laws. But when it comes to traffic violations ( e.g. failing to stop at a STOP sign, with no camera to prove it ), you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
Very often, it’s the Police Officer’s word against yours and the court often ASSUMEs that the officer is right, even if you insist that you did stop.

I don't see why it's any cops business where I am coming from or going.
The FBI did this before Eisenhower built the Freeways, and interestingly many towns were left without Interstate Freeway access because their police did this.
The dogs on On Patrol Live and the predecessor have an incredibly awful record of false positives.

I’ve been on the fence for a while-after seeing endless futility on the weekly show-they need to go.
“Hey, can I ask you something?”
“NO, sir/mam. I have to go. Am I free to go?”

So, the same FBI that pays ZERO attention to any laws on any books is going to be the entity that has oversight on what these cops were/are doing?
That’s not giving the cops a free pass. But I’m not letting folks who have ABSOLUTELY ZERO OVERSIGHT on their deeds and actions, have oversight on anyone else.
If it’s proven that a cop runs criminal history, license check or runs a license plate for any reason other than it having to do with an investigation or running a tag to check for a stolen vehicle, they can be arrested and sent to prison. And who controls the databases that have all that information? The FBI.
Do you ever wonder why the ATF doesn’t do the background check for a gun buyer, when its the agency responsible for firearms and enforcing gun laws? Because the FBI controls the database.
If an FBI agent looks up the whereabouts of an old girlfriend or where her new boyfriend lives, all good. Don’t worry about it. They didn’t mean to do it. We yelled at them and told them not to do it again.
Same answer you give, when they ask if they can search your vehicle. Cops are not your friends.
Driving down the highway with a defective muffler twisting and turning behind you, with windows tinted so dark as to reduce visibility to almost nil, with broken tail lights and bald tire treads, etc. - certainly do have something to with driving!

The corrupt Kansas cops aren’t after drugs. They ARE after any cash you might happen to have with you. Kansas cops are notorious for stealing any cash on you, claiming it “could be” drug related.
After the training the K9’s get put through sniffing for Pot they probably have the “munchies” and hit on a lost french fry or an escaped Honey Nut Cheerio the Kid dropped or threw.

In too many, way too many jurisdictions, the cops are just the best equipped street gang. I don’t trust them, period.
