I don't see why it's any cops business where I am coming from or going.
The cop asks “do you mind if I ask you something”? The correct answer is, “No sir, I prefer you don’t”. Then, “have a nice day, officer”, is next.
I do not see any rights problem here. No drugs or illegal stuff in the car, no problem. If asked, “do you mind if we search your car”, the correct answer is “I prefer you didn’t do that”. This prevents officers from having the opportunity to plant evidence.
The key is to always talk to a police officer with respect and politeness, and never be baited by hostility. Always worked for me. What is so hard about this approach?
Police officers are essential and deserve respect. However, they are not our friends.
