This is not DU!
Discuss the issues all you wish, BUT DO NOT MAKE IT PERSONAL!
Remember to use common courtesy when posting to FR. Leave off the insults and flames, name calling, etc.
We are conservatives. Be respectful to your debate adversary (fellow FReeper). For example, do not accuse them of being a "Putinista", "commrade", "murderer", "baby-killer", etc, just because he may have a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked.
Likewise, things in the presidential primary are getting over-heated. We want to be sure we come out of this with a Republican president, house and senate. The only way we can accomplish that is to unify the Republican Party. We can't destroy our own candidates. Whoever it is will need to pull us ALL together. Keep the ultimate goal in sight - Freedom! We are not here to fight each other. We are here as allies to fight for God, family, country, and FREEDOM! As William Wallace said in Brave Heart, "Unite the clans!".
Your personal favorite may be Ron DeSantis, mine happens to be President Trump. But if DeSantis receives the nomination, I'll support him, as I hope most other FReepers will.
Incidentally, we are getting way too much profanity. This is NOT DU, this is NOT CNN - (in deep voice) this IS FR!
Finally, if someone says STOP, then STOP! If someone asks you to take them off your ping list, then take them off! If someone asks you to stop posting to them, the adult and polite thing to do is to accommodate them.
Thank you all very much, and God bless you.
The Terry Schiavo threads got brutal at times.
Yes. I get that we disagree with each other at times. Healthy, RESPECTFUL debate is a good thing, but it needs to be toned down. And continued prayers to you Mr. Robinson 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amen.
It does bring to mind the last two verses of Diane Taraz's version of "Yankee Doodle" found on her excellent album "Songs of the Revolution: A 21 Song Salute to The Music of 1776". This is a very traditional version, I think, because all the rest of them are, but it reflects what I hope will turn out in the end:
Convention did in Boston meet, the Statehouse could not hold em’
So then they went to Federal Street and there the truth was told em’
Every morning went to prayer and then began disputing
Till opposition silenced were by argument refuting
Now politicians of all kinds who are not yet decided
Can see how Yankees speak their minds and yet are not divided
So here I am my Federal song composed of 13 verses
May agriculture flourish long, and commerce fill our purses!
Thx
Much needed reminder, Boss.
Bookmarking!
Great post. I feel all those things, and FR is my first and only social media site.
And New Year, too!
Reminder: No profanity, no personal attacks, no violence.

Agree. Methinks rovenstinez meant "LURKER", not "troll."
Thanks Jim. Hope you are well.
To clarify, if you "hit the abuse button," are you saying then that your complaint was revealed to the shill rather than kept confidential?
And if the person then responded "via email," do you mean "email", or do you mean "freepmail"?
Could you have misremembered, and merely posted your complaint on the thread openly? To which the person replied by freepmail? I think we would all like to think that if we hit the abuse button, it would not result in the Mods doxxing us to the person complained about, especially not revealing our email address.
Well said, brother rl.
Yes, but well stated and worthwhile. I second all that you said, with the only caveat that I haven't done the FR social rounds in person. Not for lack of interest, but only because my personal circumstances do not permit socializing at all, much less politically oriented.
FR is my first read in the morning, and my last at night. And during the day I generally have a window open on a personal device even if I'm working.
Thanks again for your excellent explication. -- Dayglored
Jim,
Thank you and roger. I have certainly taken the bait more than once. Fully agree with civility being necessary. Endeavor to have my words be soft, in case I have to eat them. There does seem to be some posting that behaves more like contractors or trolls. Appreciate how difficult it can be to discern. Thank you for the steady hand and God bless.
I wonder what is REALLY their feelings on this matter...?
Thank you.
Stay safe and I’m sorry for your loss, at FR you’re not alone. Regards
Thank you JimRob. I try to keep my posts as profanity-free as possible, but I slip up occasionally. I’ll do better going forward.
