It's the Wokey Way.
my son in law works at an antique store...he sees them take stuff...and knows he can’t do a thing.
Far lefties defending the thieving maggots. After all, it was just a pack of cigarettes. That’s no reason to touch a thieving, bottom feeding SCUMBAG.
I don’t agree, but I understand. Every company I ever worked for would have fired me if I suddenly brought attention to them. It doesn’t matter if the attention was good or bad. It’s that there was suddenly a narrative about them that they could not control. Companies are afraid of things they can’t control. Their instant reflex is to get rid of whatever caused that to happen.
Every major retailer no matter what they sell have the same policy. I know a former outside salesman for Lowe’s Home Improvement that was a consistent million dollar producer that got fired for the exact same thing except the thief was rolling out of the store with power tools. Lawyers.
headline stinks... guy who got stabbed sues?
Firings like this encourage more crime. They should be banned.
Ms Moreno has my respect for being 75 ,still working with the unpredictable public, still feeling that bond of loyalty to her store.
Bad news, she lost her job because of it. Good news, she didn’t lose her life or get beaten up for it.
Easily will be the worst written headline of the day.
Don’t interrupt the ferals getting their free stuff. You could get hurt.
Be loyal to your employer as they are unto you.
Works in a dangerous job at her advanced age, and bully thief steals smokes from behind the counter in a brazen feral move.
She out of courage, decency, and company loyalty tries to stop the theft.
Awoke superwealthy elite feckless cowardly management just wants to avoid legal issues so gets rid of the uppity old lady who is doing her part to prevent societal collapse and complete dissolution of morality.
Fact is, the elite owners are doing Cloward-Piven's work.
In another generation, it will be expected that taking cigarettes from behind the counter is the due of the feral Amish.
It is right that they do it.
Anyone who prevents it must be punished, as happened here.
Bad is good, and good is bad.
Key is the fact that the disparity in wealth between the owners and the worker is so great that any amount of theft is really insignificant to the owners. Insurance will cover it.
The insurers don't care because their wealth is so great that they have zero interest in preventing theft.
Too many super wealthy sitting around with no skin in the game of real human life. The wealthy have no meaningful work to do, no real risk anymore.
Nothing to do but sit on their idle asses and control and armchair quarterback and cruelly regulate some pitiful old lady as she does her dangerous job as bravely as she can, so she can eat and pay rent.
All this is very unstable.
Why have clerks? Just leave the doors open and re-stock as needed. /s
The headline isn’t really clear.
It seems to say that a shoplifter sued the company and that the clerk was fired after that happened.
Putting hands on someone is assault. Second, it’s the same for every business, don’t be Superman.
I’m surprised the shoplifter did not sue the store for being interfered with.
This Patrick Reilly gets paid to write articles like this? Good grief.
Somebody should find this gal and offer her some A) legal assistance and B) another job. Don’t let them win.
I hope she wins. Will be the only way I buy their gas again......knowing she gets some of the revenue.
She’s of the era where moral people stood up to immoral people.
I’m afraid lots of old people will be in trouble for things like this.
She should sue for “ageism” too.
