It's a time-honored rule: When staying in a hotel, always check to make sure you've got the right room number.
That goes double if you're breaking down the door:
NY POST Tweet:
FBI agents handcuff, interrogate Delta pilot after entering wrong hotel room in training mishap https://trib.al/MIS6uvn
A Boston hotel guest was awakened in the middle of the night by federal agents who barged into his room, handcuffed him, threw him into the shower and interrogated him for an hour — before they realized they had entered the wrong room.
So it seems these consummate professional were engaged in a training exercise in which they were supposed to barge into the hotel room, toss a paid actor into the bathroom, and grill him for a while.
I don't exactly know why this is part of the FBI's training repertoire. What exactly is this supposed to teach the agents? How to interrogate a dude on the payroll? There's no field application there. It's kind of beyond me.
Also beyond me is how federal agents could do something as basically stupid as get the wrong room number. But they did:
They pushed into the room, handcuffed the pilot and reportedly put him in the shower, according to the station.
Then the agents interrogated the man, said to be in his 30s, for nearly an hour until they realized they had the wrong guy.
You just have to imagine how that poor guy felt being on the receiving end of what he imagined was a legitimate FBI interrogation.
And you just got to love picturing the other guy waiting in his hotel room for the FBI agents to show up, wondering where the heck they were.
Let's hope this guy parlays his troubles into a hefty payout from the dunderheaded FBI!
ANSWER: Affirmative action.
The pilot should hang a “I hate Trump” placard on the room door to keep the FBI away.
“And you just got to love picturing the other guy waiting in his hotel room for the FBI agents to show up, wondering where the heck they were.”
Reminds me of the scene from The Fifth Element where the cops try to apprehend Corbin Dallas.
False arrest, breaking and entering, unlawful sequestration. Serious crimes here. The “wrong” room is no excuse. Being an fbi agent is no excuse, in fact it indicates that the agent is a highly trained individual who should know what he is doing.
I was called and asked to attend an interview for a friend’s Top Secret background check. The lady agreed to meet at a Panera. About the time she was fifteen minutes late to meet me, she realized she had been questioning the wrong guy. Some older man at another table.
I had given her a description of me but she didn’t pay much attention. The other guy wasn’t remotely close.
Must be kind of typical for the feds
An unnamed government organization rented a farm near my homestead to practice assaulting the place. They neglected to tell anyone but the local sheriff.
When the nextdoor neighbor saw armed men - not in uniform - surrounding his friend’s house - he fired a couple of 12 gauge shells in their direction.
TRUE STORY
Could the pilot not have had the ‘clot shot’, and this was meant to be payback and a ‘warning’ to others?
Any time an event like this ends up with ventilated agents/officers, I will be solidly on the side of the one who did the ventilating.
There’s simply no excuse for it.
We the People must protect each other on the street and in the courtroom.
Did they ever find their luggage?
Thankfully, they didn’t J6 him. He’d be on his way to prison by now.
This pilot will be lucky if they don’t persecute the hell out of him until he absolves them of any wrongdoing.
“Thankfully, they didn’t J6 him.”
Yet. The best way for commies to silence possible truths is to lock up the truth tellers.
Yes, it was in Zimbabwe................
...and the bathroom...................
So THIS is why Delta flights are always late.
;’}
Just demonstrating who is in charge. This wasn’t a mishap.
Why use a hotel? Don’t these thugs have training centers for this type of operation? There is an old county firehouse the regional law enforcement agencies and fire departments use for training in my area. If the local cops need to train they use that building and set it up to simulate the situation. They don’t rent a room at the local hotel.
Going to disagree.
Have seen lily white male cops doing things that are so bone headed and down right illegal that even my dog was shaking her head.
Look up the James King situation if you want to feel a bit sick. All involved were male and white in a white area of the city.
The problem is that police think they are special and always in the right. If you come to their attention you are the one in the wrong.
An honest police officer will tell you that.
The bigger problem is qualified immunity. Did you do something criminal while on duty? Well, has there ever been a court case in the specific court district that you are in that point by point says you should not have committed that criminal act as a police officer? If there isn't, and there probably isn't, how were you to know that beat up up someone who is dating your ex is wrong? Or taking stuff from the house you are searching is unacceptable? Or jacking off in front of a minor female you are questioning is not a good thing? That is the kind of fine law detail that it is unreasonable to expect you to know.
