The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

Those are very kewl. Dinner, huh? What we havin?
Thank you.
We haven’t hard to much problem. But, we live way north outside of Jasksonville, FL. Inexpensive & can be placed around the house:)
See NN’s post, just before the one of yours that this responds to. Another useful tool is a car jump starter. Big battery, plus a compressor, starting around $100.
Great news! We have some close friends who own a condo in Bonita Springs, about 5 miles from the beach. They have 5 feet of water in the first floor of their building. But, they’re on the 2nd floor and are fine. No power, of course. But, they will be OK.
I’m so relieved. We lost contact with them this afternoon around 3pm. Just hear from them an hour ago, after they found their portable power sources.
VERY HAPPY to hear from you NN. Stuff can be replaced, but you can’t!
PRAISE GOD!
Still tough times ahead though. Be smart.
We had lamb shanks and carrots. 😊
Wonderful news that your friends are safe. Thank you for checking in here.
I bought my florida family solar chargers that double as a good sized power bank. They can be plugged in and charged prior to the storm - once the storm is over and the sun comes out can continue charging phones and computers until the power is back on even if that takes weeks

Would love to know what size your battery inverter is. For future use.
Thank you. God Bless.
About the kitten
I’ve tried looking at some cams from different communities, but have been having trouble getting most of them to load.
I was going to get one of those, but they were too expensive.
Wow. I also read Mike Seidel said in 30 years of covering hurricanes for TWC this the the worst he’s ever seen, no contest.
Hope this helps:

Holy crap five miles in and that much flooding. Are they on the river?
Was it an Eco Flow? I'd love to get one.
It probably depends which way the wind blew the water in or pushed it out. Earlier I saw a few live cams of areas right on the ocean, and I mean like fishing piers/jetties, that barely had any flooding but other areas a bit farther away got hammered.
Glad you are able to check in! What is your forecast into tomorrow? We’ll be checking out of the hotel, possibly without the use of luggage carts and elevators. May take 14 trips to load the cars. 😳
