Ahead of the rally former President Donald Trump was scheduled to have in Arizona (later postponed due to the death of Ivana Trump), the Fox News website posted a stunning three-minute video featuring a host of Trump supporters in Maricopa County talking about ditching him in 2024 for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
The incredible montage features a group of Arizona voters who — save for one identified as Beverly who enthusiastically backed a Trump 2024 bid — all said they wanted to see Trump sit it out next time and identified DeSantis as the person they want to take over the party.
“I like what he stands for; I like what he does,” said one voter, identified as Jeff. “But he upset too many people, and he upset them really bad. So I don’t think he’s good for the party.”

Yes
A good ticket for 2024 would be Trump DeSantis
The only glitch is that FL needs Governor DeSantis.
We will see.
I see Fox’s effort at pitting DeSantis against Trump as a way to create controversy. Controversy creates viewership.
Yes. DeSantis will walk into a human shredder if he becomes the nominee. The apparatus is now being prepared by the media.
Fake News

desantis for florida governor 2022...
florida first!... 😎
Never happen. They are both living in FLA. Can’t have a Pres and VP from the same state.
Fox News = Paul Ryan Nothing else needs to be said!
Well, I know this guy will belly crawl over creeks of burning coals and rivers of broken glass to vote for Donald Trump.
DeSantis seems to be doing a good job in Florida. I say let him finish in Florida and be ready to grab the torch after Trump’s next term.
FAUX News is not your friend.
The scumbags in the Murdoch family see a chance to be the new cnn.
That’s right but...
Dock Cheany lived in Texas so he moved to Wyoming to run with Bush.
Trump could move back to New York.
Or maybe California?
*Dick Cheany
DeSantis in 2028. He can carry on the America first plan. Right now I would like to keep him in Florida.
Trump lives part of the time in New Jersey.
What I am concerned about with Ron DeSantis is contracting “Scott Walker syndrome” An influential conservative first term, a validating re election, then getting Presidential fever and mailing it in after not getting the nomination. His lackluster second term ended with defeat in 2018
AS for me focus is on re electing Ron Jonson and kicking Tony Evers to the curb. 2024 is along time in the future. Focus Focus Focus on what is ahead of us
Besides that, both parties would give him just as much resistance as they gave Trump. Because if he is like Trump and does the same things Trump would do, then he would be deemed as not a team player. Thus the roadblocks would be erected for him as they were for Trump.
These people cannot think past the end of their noses, in my opinion.
You’re sniffing way too much doggie butt.
I doubt DeSantis will get sworn in on January 1st 2023 and then begin a campaign for President shortly thereafter.
The best strategy - have 2 fantastic candidates……and pit them against each other! Brilliant.
/sarcasm
Your reasoning is destructive. We have not had one great candidate for decades and now that we have 2, you’re obsession is to can one of them. I recommend starting your own thread where you can post ‘polls’ backing DeSantis every other day instead of mucking up ‘breaking news’ forums. Your posts are not ‘news’, it is democrat/RINO propaganda.
We can predict this: As the 2024 election draws closer, you will see the media pumping up DeSantis for all it is worth. (NOTE: These points below may or may not be true as they are only examples of what they will say, but it is how CNN and the NYT will push DeSantis.)
They will talk about how he is a better choice.
He is more grounded in reality.
He can work with both sides of the aisle.
He is more electable.
He is younger.
He is more dynamic.
Etc. etc. etc.
They will do this, and make DeSantis look very attractive, moderate, appealing to a wide range of people, will be a good presidential candidate, etc.
And DeSantis would be a very good candidate indeed. (None of this sentiment is anti-DeSantis, wish the same could be said for the sentiments against Trump)
But when the election year rolls around, and should DeSantis get the nomination, the media will do a 180.
They will turn on him. He will be portrayed as a dictator. A tyrant. Uncaring of people’s health with his approach to COVID. Against women’s rights. Racist. Homophobic. He will be attacked for his stances against Leftist pedophile groomers like Disney.
Viewers will not remember the reasonable portrait the Media painted of DeSantis, the warm assessment of him that they put forth for viewers.
Instead, DeSantis will be portrayed as evil incarnate. And the Left will be gleeful at their ability and success at sowing discord and division in The Party of Stupid. Election cycle after election cycle, they do this, yet dimwits on our side fail to see exactly what they are doing, play along and assist them in this charade, becoming “Assistant Democrats”.
Mark my words if this comes to pass.
And yet we have people on this forum who want to play right into their hands.
Trump isn’t a perfect candidate in any way; he made plenty of mistakes and poor choices, which would be somewhat expected from a man whose first foray into politics was a run for the Presidency of the United States.
Neither is DeSantis a perfect candidate.
But there exists an enormous reservoir of support for Donald Trump amongst conservative voters, as there should, for a man unfairly robbed of what should have been a second term.
Trump was no George H.W. Bush who lost his second term through his “No New Taxes” pledge, Trump’s second term was stolen from him, and not just stolen by election fraud as it conclusively was, but by a concerted effort to deny him that via character assassination and outright lies in coordination with illegal operations by government agencies and outright collaboration with the media, all in an effort to slander him and tie him down like Gulliver at best, or get him removed from office via unjustified impeachment at worst.
But even with all this, in spite of all this, Trump succeeded in key areas that enhanced our lives and our national security.
Furthermore, only an imbecile would look at this concerted effort to persecute Trump over a year and a half after he left office in order to prevent him from running again, and not recognize those actions by the people howling for his head as those of a foe that is frightened by the prospect of facing a feared and hated enemy again. They hate him and fear him, because he is not one of them, and is not riding the “Gravy Train” with them. If people like that are enemies of us and the country we love (and they indisputably are) then Trump is our ally and deserves our support.
And we see that sentiment on this thread.
Donald Trump deserves that second chance, and he should get it. Let’s not be “The Party Of Stupid” and play right into the hands of those who wish to control and tyrannize us.
