There is nothing in the Constitution about abortion, and the Constitution does not implicitly protect the right.

There are 6 conservatives. Why was it 5-4?
It wasn’t. It was 5-1-3.

That’s what the opinion was all about...State Laws have always dealt with abortion...and the precedence lies there. Roe v Wade should have never happened. It is NOT precedence.
To: DoodleDawg
Yup and I think they might try it. In close competitive districts it will be 50-50 on whether it will help or hurt various Republican candidates. Abortion politics was just made local and personal and everyone will have to choose sides instead of relying on the USC “shield”!

Wow. That is pathetic. And the idiot Bush had to make this wussy "Chief Justice" right from the start. HE should have wrote the opinion and put his stamp on it.
And by writing a concurring opinion, Roberts was able to delay publication of the majority opinion as long as possible. That was no accident. Roberts was placed on the court by Bush to subvert traditional values which most modern conservatives embrace, while he pretends to support them.

there might be something to the theory that Roberts leaked the decision
Everyone who says that this decision falls squarely at the feet of Trump is right.

No, that’s in the Declaration of Independence.

In Trumps 2nd debate with the pig in the pantsuit, Trump said he would appoint conservative SC Justices who would overturn R v W.
It was that exact moment in time Trump won me over after hating him for 20 years.
WE DID IT!!!!!!!
OUTSTANDING!!!
THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

SCOTUS is kinda strange in that their case handling is of course under very strict rules, but once a decision is reached, there’s nothing hard and fast, just tradition/inertia, which they don’t like to depart from but will on occasion.
It makes the decision days very interesting, because you never know what decisions will be released, or even how many.

Unless there is a major change from Alito’s draft there is nothing that prevents Congress from legislating abortion.
Would Congress be invoking the Commerce Clause?
To: Manic_Episode
I remember during the 2016 campaign, always dreading that something would come out about Trump paying for an abortion in his past.
Thankfully that didn’t happen.

C.J. Roberts is a cipher.
J. Thomas and J. Alito have been waiting many years for this day.
Pres. Trump finally gave them the support they needed in the form of JJ. Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.
And the late Mr. Justice Scalia is smiling from his place in Heaven.
Any doubts anyone might have about the value of the Trump Presidency should, IMO, be eliminated by this particular SCOTUS session.

I agree, but when I think like that in my family, I get called a doomer and yelled at.
I really want to believe the happyiest thing, but we are dealing with democrats here.
Face it this does not end abortion, it leaves it to the States and to the hearts and minds of humans < This being the most important way to stop it.
