Chrysler’s sales in the USA have been declining for years. This is a good idea for them to focus on one market.

Tesla made a 1.1 billion dollar profit in 4th gtr 2021.
They sold 495k cars in 2020 and 895k cars in 2021 and could have sold 200k more but the supply chain issues held them back.
Ev cars are the future
Electric cars are the old technology. They preceded steam powered cars, piston engines cars, rotary engine cars, and turbine engine cars.
What's changed is that automobiles have become standardized enough that government bureaucrats can stick their fingers in the process.
Finding and mining the components for batteries increases in difficulty. Melting and recycling internal combustion engines doesn't require finding and mining more iron or aluminum.
Just put a portable generator in the trunk, with a 20 gallon gas tank, and you’re good go!
My fully gas Buick sedan is 5 years old now I brought it new but for the last 2 years the auto dealer and others have been offering me more than I paid for it new ...

True, and there will be manufacturers making petrol, diesel etc cars. Most likely the commuter, smaller cars will be all electric soon as that just makes sense. But ice cars and trucks will be available as long as there is a demand.
If nuclear can provide the recharge quickly and batteries can be improved substantially, why not?
EV’s aren’t ‘new’ in that sense of time, but they are the latest tech wave. When has it ever been a good idea to put your money against the latest tech wave?
Luddite economics rarely works. It’s some times off from being economical for most people, but it’s quickly changing. ICE cars are rising in price so fast it’s hard to keep up. EV’s are dropping at least as fast.

However, when everything changes at once, the word is “apocalypse.”

Toyota is going all electric. All their current cars have a 450 mile range and said 600 miles is the goal in 2 years
They have a new EV Tundra coming out in 2023 that is going to be a game changer.
Btw the new Mercedes EV just went 690 miles on a single charge

Chrysler was a terrible car, long before Mercedes bought them. After losing billions, the Germans sold them to the Italians. Fiat and Chrysler were a match made in the slums. Two crap companies merged into one even larger, and even crappies company.”
Yeah, that merger was the final end of the Jeep legacy. They are just Fiat road car garbage now.
