any new jeep

The lease on my 2019 Jeep is up next month. For the same 2022 model, the monthly payments will be approx. $150 more. Very little inventory on all the dealership lots around here.

On the local Subaru dealer's website, they only have 1 Forrester and 4 Outbacks available.

By then half the US population will be dead or infirm from the clot-shots, and the rest will be hunkered down in their escape compounds. Won’t need any vehicles, electric or otherwise.

The only thing that would be a game changer is if they could get the batteries to have similar performance specs as gasoline. Summer and winter, headwinds and tailwinds, no load or fully loaded, same performance.

But they can’t. It’s all about demarketing oil, so the billionaires can buy up the oil for themselves. Then, when they own the oil, “science” will suddenly confirm that batteries cannot match the performance of oil.

Suddenly, gas cars will be a thing again and you can get a fill-up for only $30 bucks/gallon.

That’s all it is.

We bought a new car to tow a new RV this year. We have a used Lexus on great shape. I was going to sell it, but I’ve decided to keep it.

It will prolong our need to purchase another car, and i dont want to get an electric one.

I think the only thing that makes money for them are Jeeps, mini vans and Dodge pick up trucks.

Their minivan was the best design they have come up with since the 1970s. The problem was they were disposable after 100K miles(if that). Where as the Honda Odessey and Toyota van lasted forever. However, the idea/design of the stow and go seating was a BRILLIANT idea. Their quality sucked though.

Electric Vehicles are the latest government subsidy wave, not the latest tech wave. They're the same as the government subsidy windmill wave; costs more to make and operate than they generate and require coal, gas, and nuclear power stations anyway.

Remove the EPA requirement of "pollute elsewhere, drive cleaner here" mandates and the electric cars wave dissolves.

Without government interference, people will continue to drive cars that don't require hours to recharge, can carry more than 500 lbs, and can be parked anywhere without having to worry about recharging it.

Might as well, I would never consider ever being a Chrysler, Electric or Not Electric.

I've owned Fords, a Lincoln, and a Mercury. I've owned cars carrying the brands of Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Geo, and Saturn.

I've never owned a Chrysler product. I test drove one once a little over 40 years ago.

> It’s all about feelings. Facts are irrelevant. The crazy thing is that this has infected the boardrooms of some pretty big companies.

They are being forced into destroying their companies by Black Rock and Goldman Sachs ...

“You need to understand the govt is making these decisions”

No they are not. The car cos are.

EV cars take a 1/3 of the labor to build and 1/2 the parts.

No more radiators, exhaust, fuel system, ifnitions, trans problemsetc

Toyota is going electric. They said their warranty work will drop 80-90% electric motors are very simple. They have one moving part. The main shaft

Car companies are going to save tens of billions in warranty work.

This is not about green but maximizing profits and reducing labor cost.

When EVs take over 75% of current techs will be out of a job. Like I said the motor had one moving part and no complex transmission

Those subsidies they are counting on better materialize for their sake, for their workers sakes. That will give those workers time to find another job.

Speaking of unintended consequences, I am wondering what a few thousand 100 amp residential chargers does for the electrical infrastructure. Let’s see. They brown out here and there all over the country now due to a hot day with a lot off a/c units on. Will 6 new 15 amp loads per house have any effect on this? hmmmmm.

“When EVs take over 75% of current techs will be out of a job.”

That and upstream oil people are the main causes of backlash. It’s going to happen, but it’ll be exxonmobil, BP and others in a bind.

A couple days ago I saw some battery data that claimed electric vehicle mileage declines by 70% when the temperature goes under 30 degrees F.

Chrysler files bankruptcy in 2029.

Taxpayers bail out Chrysler 2030 w/o their consent.

My Chrysler 200 convertable 2012 model only has 2500 miles.I’m 84 and it is my LAST car. my FIRST car at age 19 was a 48 Chrysler New Yorker.
I only drive 3000 a year and I figure my 200 will be worth something when I am 90 in 2028.

An adult tricycle with a nice big basket on the back will come in handy. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town with one grocery store, the prices of which are way to high, and a couple of dollar stores. I don’t think the 20 mile ride to Aldi will be possible on a tricycle. ☹️
