Major U.S. car brand to go full electric, will no longer offer internal combustion vehicles

Automaker Chrysler just announced plans to go completely electric by 2028, anticipating the release of its first electric vehicle by 2025.

Chrysler announced the plans along with a new AI-enabled vehicle system powered by a battery that the company says can travel 350 to 400 miles per charge, as The Associated Press reported.

Chrysler is part of Europe’s Stellantis, which last month announced a new strategy to embed AI-enabled software into millions of vehicles across its 14 different brands. This could gain Stellantis $22.6 billion in annual revenue by 2030.

This is all part of the race among automakers to produce more completely electric and hybrid cars that also have more autonomous driving features. Overall, this would begin shifting cars away from gasoline-powered engines.

As one of the main American brands of Stellantis, Chrysler will be on the front lines of this change in the auto industry in North America.

Well, heck, I just had to take the front bumper (and some other stuff) off our Subaru Outback to replace the headlight clusters. The weird thing is that they have those clusters anchored so well / in so many spots, you’d think they are the main thing holding together the front 15% of so of the car. But the attachment of the wheel wells (also comes considerably into play in this job) is so cheesy it’s almost unbelievable.

“Airborne systems”

So YOU’RE the reason we still don’t have flying cars!!

(Your link didn’t work so did my own search - I had no idea Chrysler was into aviation!)

Heh - Leno on his 1957 Imperial showed the tail-lights with their “bird catcher” (IIRC) design. The chrome was designed to sort of look like the intake of a jet engine, and the rear red light the flame. Pretty cool looking.

From the net:

“$4,000 in 1965 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $35,294.98 today”

Although $35k for a Cobra today would still be a great price I would think. (Paid that much for a minivan 10 years ago!)

My F150 has no wires. It has eight coils, one for each plug. Most are like that now. Voltage is lost in spark plug wires because while it’s in the milliamps, it’s high voltage to be able to jump that gap. 20,000 volts or so. With coil over plug, there’s no voltage loss.

Almost there now - they only make three vehicles under that name. This is a good move for them, as they can limit the potential downsides to just one marque.

Control the masses.

You dont have a cell phone, you have a computer you carry in your pocket.

There is no such thing as an electric car, its a computer that carries you in its pocket.

Dont want a jab? I shut you off.
Want to leave town? I shut you off.
Didnt pay your taxes? I shut you off.
Poor social credit score? I shut you off.
One of the other 3 families assigned to that vehicle reports you for wrongthink?
I shut you off.

A nurse reported you for making anti-government comments at your family members post-notavaxxx trauma metaverse enablement pod? I shut you off.

Call friends or a family member for a ride? I turn them off.

Oh, youre some kind of techie/gearhead and built your own?
I raise the smart bollards.

Start causing damage? I trigger the Zone Calming EMP from the bollard.

You shielded it? You are clearly a terrorist. We have discovered a post on line where you admitted you were a white supremacist. Law Enforcement will arrive right before you decide to commit suicide by starting your car on fire.
